Bring on the Sun - Simon Says Stamp Shine On Release

Good morning! I'm back with some bright and sunny inspiration using the NEW Shine On Release from Simon Says Stamp - I actually have two cards to share today! There is only one tiny difference, but if you scroll down to the very bottom of this post, you can see how I customized one of the two of these cards I made for my oldest daughter's birthday. When you think about it, almost ANY card can be a birthday card, especially with a tiny adjustment to the sentiment!

For both of these cards, I stamped the image from Bring on the Sun on watercolor cardstock, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder over the black ink to add a bit of extra shine. I then colored the images with some fun Altenew watercolors in bright, tropical colors. Once it dried, I die cut both of them with a Squoval die sized to nest inside one of the new Embossed Squovals which I die cut from Honey Gold cardstock. I used the new Dotty Contour embossing folder on white cardstock to create a background, then matted that on a tiny edge of Audrey cardstock. Sentiment is another new set that I just love called Chill Vibes! You can stamp just the outline, or just the solid image, or pair them together as I did here. I used a blend of Zest and Blush ink to stamp the sentiment in two tones, overlapping the ink slightly for a smooth blend. A tiny row of Clear Dazzling gems finish this card off - and the card at the very bottom has a tiny "happy birthday" added to it with the Happy Bee Day stamp set that now has a new coordinating die in this release. Make sure to scroll through all the photos to see that one at the bottom:
