Good morning! I'm joining in today with a fun event - and I'm officially sharing my Christmas cards for the year! I pulled them off fairly late in the year - but took a few hours on two days to make over 60 cards, thanks to the MISTI stamping tool, and my fabulous little minion helpers (AKA daughters aged 11 and 12!) The next day I realized I was a few short, so I quickly put together an additional 12 cards - they really came together quickly! But before I tell you more - here is a little more about today's event and GIVEAWAY!!!
Advent Calendar Extravaganza is -the- festive event of the season! This 'hop with a twist' was dreamed up by Taheerah Atchia and features surprise destinations each day! Joining in the fun with Taheerah are over 60 special guests - each serving up some fantastic Christmas inspiration! Just like an Advent Calendar, you'll never know where you're going to be visiting next until you 'open the door'!
And that's not all! With 20 *amazing* sponsors taking part as well, your crafty wish lists is bound to get a boost with a chance to win a prize EVER SINGLE DAY!!
Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises wait behind the door!
And...I'm happy to share my Christmas cards for this year! I had lots of fun combining product from SEVERAL different manufacturers - something I rarely have the freedom to do, and it is so liberating!
I lined up the bird stamp on the MISTI, and one daughter inked and stamped all the birds while I trimmed the papers to size, and the other daughter worked on cutting the little bows out of gold cardstock. They switched somewhere in the middle for a break! Then I lined up the sentiment, and one of them stamped that in the green, while the other added the white inking around the edges of the kraft cardstock. By that time, I had all the other layers trimmed to size - so I began assembling the layers.
Once I had the front panels put together - minus the bows - I handed them each a Copic marker, and they "messy colored" the berries and leaves - I told them to do it that way on purpose, a little hard for my perfectionist daughter, but the other one loved it! Hahaha! While they did that, I cut, scored, and folded the cardbases. And then - I just couldn't resist one more step! I added Glossy Accents over each of the berries, then sprinkled with some distress glitter - it was just the touch they needed!
Once that dried, I finished off by attaching the bows with a tiny dot of adhesive, let those dry super well, then attached to the cardbases - and stamped the sentiment on the inside - again with the help of my trusty MISTI. Can't imagine doing this job without it!
It's not a party without a prize - and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today's prize is generously supplied by Pinkfresh Studio so you'll definitely want to get your hands on it! Simply leave a comment on this post to enter, then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too to double your chances! Don't forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah's Blog and and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 7am EST on Thursday 31st December to leave all your comments!
Don't forget the Advent Calendar Extravaganza runs from 1st-25th December inclusive so make sure you visit taheerah-atchia.com every day for fabulous inspiration and amazing prizes every single time! Merry Christmas!
