I Said a Prayer - Tropical Toucan

Good morning! Stopping by this morning with a card using some newly released Reverse Confetti stamps and dies, paired up with a sentiment from a previous release that I just love!

I started off by heat embossing my sentiment in black on watercolor paper, then went with a bright and tropical feel for the colors, created a watercolor wash, then added some splatters with the same colors as well as some gold. I heat embossed the toucan, also on watercolor paper, and colored it in once, let it dry, then added a bit of shadowing for a second coat.

I added the frame die, overhanging it on the top and trimming off the top edge, mounted the toucan with foam tape, and then machine stitched the entire thing to a kraft cardbase, leaving it hanging free.

Also linking this up to a couple challenges - first up, this weeks Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Go Wild:

Here are the Reverse Confetti products I used on this card - click on the picture if you want to learn more about any of these items!

  2. Oh my goodness! This card is so genius on so many levels! First off, I really love the scene you created and how you placed the white frame over your gorgeous painted background the way you did. And the sentiment is perfect! My best friend lost her sweet little dog this week and this card would be so wonderful for others' hard times. Thank you so much for the inspiration and for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
