Good morning! I'm back again today to share another card with the Special Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp - and it is a seriously AMAZING kit! (You can check out the entire kit HERE - and I've linked some of the individual elements that I used on my card below as well).
For my card today I focused on the stamp set included in the kit and some ways to use some of the many smaller images in the kit - not to mention that fun retro Santa!
For my card today I focused on the stamp set included in the kit and some ways to use some of the many smaller images in the kit - not to mention that fun retro Santa!
I started off by creating my background - I stamped several of the small images in the stamp set on the included Olive Cardstock in the kit in Clear Embossing ink, then heat embossed them in the Antique Gold embossing powder in the kit. I also did a bit of inking around the edges with the Bundled Sage distress ink from the kit - this helped frame the focal point a little bit and draw the eye in to the center of the card.
Next up, I stamped and heat embossed the Santa with the same powder but on the Neenah Desert Storm cardstock in the kit, and colored in with colored pencils. There is a white Prismacolor pencil in the kit that I used and paired up with a few other colors from my own supply.
I heat embossed the sentiment in white on some Dark Chocolate cardstock, then mounted both front images with foam tape over my handmade background paper.
I love the retro feel to this kit - that Santa, the ornaments, and the font of the sentiments all work so perfectly together!
Here is a peek at the entire kit:
