Distress Ink Butterflies 2 Ways - Simon Says Stamp June 2020 Card Kit

Hello! I'm stopping by to share my first cards created with the BRAND NEW June Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Beautiful Butterflies! So excited that after having to skip last month's card kit due to the Covid 19 shutdowns, they are back with this month's lovely kit! This kit is full of fun butterfly goodness - kind of fitting with everyone (hopefully) able to start coming out of isolation soon...I wonder how many good changes there will be? The included stamp set by the same name is just lovely and filled with fabulous sentiments, the fun Butterfly Trails stencil is super fun, the pattern paper is gorgeous, there is some beautiful Glitz Glitter Gel - not to mention the Cardstock, stickers, and more!

Today I'm starting by sharing two cards using the gorgeous stamp set in two different ways with Distress Inks for some fun effects!

Here is the video sharing how these cards came together:

I love how Distress Inks react with water and give you so many possibilities!

This was the first version of the card - stamped in Distress Inks, then some of the color blended around with a wet brush, then stamped again over the top, and a few splatters to finish it off:

The next version was stamped again with the Distress Ink, then some water misted over the top to let the colors bleed and blend a bit. Restamped over the top with the same inks, then again with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear powder for some beautiful shine - here is a closer look at the second card:

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Which version do you like best? Can you think of more ways to play with distress inks?
