Dip Dye Watercolor Happy Birthday

Well, while we are on the long overdue cards to post (haha!) - how about this one from last summer that I made for my oldest daughter's 17th birthday? Yep...kind of late for this one as well! I had so much fun layering on watercolors for this one to create this card!

I learned this watercolor technique in last springs Online Card Classes - and put my own twist on it with the waves to get this fun look - I especially love it with these aqua colors - it makes me think of the ocean! I also used my Starry Colors palette to add some gold splatters.

Sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio's Essentials: Classic Words dies - cut once from gold glitter cardstock and a couple extra times from white cardstock to layer together for dimension. I also added a secondary sentiment underneath (I can't remember what set that is from right now - obviously it's been too long!) - heat embossed in white on a strip of vellum to wrap around the back of the front panel to attach.

Wrapped some twine around, added some sparkly jewels, rounded a couple corners off, and then attached it to a coordinating card base to finish this card off!
