Hello! I'm more on top of things this month, so popping in to share my first cards using the BRAND NEW March 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Happy Hello! This month's kit is has a lovely folk art and vintage feel that I love! The included stamp set by the same name has adorable images and sentiments, there is a cute phrase die, some gorgeous pattern paper, a full size ink pad, a fun heat embossing tool, some embossing powder...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!
I'm starting by sharing two cards using this kit - it's no surprise that I was in love with this lovely pattern paper, so you know I had to mix and match lots of that on my cards!
For this first card, I started off by heat embossing the main image from the Happy Hello stamp set in white on some of the included Smoke cardstock. I was delighted to find that the largest of the Nested Round Hearts dies I purchased from the last release was the perfect size to die cut that heat embossed image!
Next, I played with different layers of pattern paper. I love mixing pattern paper from one paper pad, since the tones usually mix and match together so well. And I LOVE layering different colors and patterns together on cards!
Sentiment is also from the stamp set, stamped in black, and hand trimmed into a small banner shape.
I used
Simon Says Stamp Big Momma foam tape to adhere some of the layers together. It's one of my favorites, because the thickness of it is less than standard foam tape I've noticed. So I can get dimension, but if I want it between two layers, it doesn't make my card quite so thick and bulky!
Next up, I love using leftovers from other cards, so I put the negative piece from the heart on the last card to good use, along with some pattern paper scraps from the kit!
This card is so simple, but it might be one of my favorites! I was so glad I didn't throw away the leftovers from die cutting, and then as I started playing, this card just kind of came together.
I layered a few strips of pattern paper to fit behind the heart, trimming as necessary, then popped the heart panel up with foam adhesive. I used thin strips to curve around the heart, and fit as much as possible in those tiny spaces around the outside.
Sentiment is heat embossed from the Happy Hello stamp set in gold, then trimmed down, and popped up with foam on the background. I also added a sprinkle of sparkling clear sequins to add some movement!
Finally, it just felt like it needed one more thing, so I wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card, and tied a bow. Just what it needed!
