Nordic Holiday Background - Simon Says Stamp Sugar and Spice Release

Good morning! I feel like I've been quiet this week on social media - but it's been a flurry of activity in my craft room! I've been creating up a storm for upcoming releases that I can't show off quite yet - I've lost count of the hours I've spent, but thankfully you don't notice the time when you are doing something you love! :)

But today, I'm popping it with one more card that I had already created with the Sugar and Spice Release from Simon Says Stamp, and hadn't had a chance to share yet. I am a big fan of Scandinavian design - a lot of my family tree branches from that area! So as soon as I saw this amazing coverplate die, I couldn't wait to create with it!

Something about a design like this just makes me want to make a simple card, but with high color contrast. So I die cut the Wintertime Celebration coverplate die from white cardstock, and kept many of the die cut pieces off to the side. I adhered it to a cardbase created with Lipstick Red cardstock for a bold pop of color, then carefully added those little reserved pieces back in, adhering with small bits of foam adhesive and offsetting slightly for a shadow effect. Once I had all those in place, I accented heavily with Dazzling gems in Prism, and added sentiments from EZ Strips Reverse Vintage Christmas sentiment strips, die cut with the new EZ Strips Rounded Rectangles one piece die. The crisp black stands out so well with the contrasting red and white, don't you think? It's hard to see in the photos, but I also added some additional sparkly Nuvo glitter drops on parts of the raised designs. Here is a closer look at this finished card:
