Good morning! I recently noticed my stash of baby cards was getting super low, so I pulled out a (rather SURPRISING) set from Simon Says Stamp - keep reading for what I used to create these cards, that you just might not expect!
I had seen a card by Susan Opel that used this same die set to create a baby card. I thought it was adorable, and I never would have thought to use the Yeti Footprint die this way! Haha! I started off with some watercolor paper, and did some ink smooshing with different shades of SSS inks in Carnation, Sprout, Zest, and Surf. I wanted to recreate the look of baby footprints done with ink as keepsakes, and the ink smoosh technique worked so well for that! I then die cut the ink smooshed pieces, and popped them up with foam adhesive on the shadow layer cut from white cardstock. For the background, I used Swiss Dots embossing folder, and rounded off one corner of that panel as well as the cardbase. I tied around some May Arts Faux Silk white ribbon in a big fluffy bow before adhering those panels together. I added the die cut sentiment using Baby Words dies and white glitter cardstock, then added the secondary sentiments from the Welcoming set, trimmed into thin strips and mounted with foam adhesive. Finished off with a few coordinating Dazzling Gems in Bubblegum, Butter, Sprout, and Dusk (only because I was running low on Surf which would have been a better match. But these gems are versatile!). Here is a closer look at these finished cards:
