Unity FWF - Falling for You

Good morning! As this was a bit of a busy week, I didn't have a chance to get something made for this weeks Unity Friends with Flair, but I had this little one that I haven't had the opportunity to share yet! This is one I made for a Paper Crafts Magazine publication call that wasn't picked up - that's why it is a Fall theme card! I'm really in no rush to end summer - I promise!
This was for one of the sketches. I punched a bunch of maple leaves with a Martha Stewart punch, and layered them on Papertrey Ink buttons, punched holes in the leaves to match the buttons, and tied some Papertrey Ink twine through. I rolled the ends of the twine between my fingers to fray the edges a bit so it looked softer.
The sentiment is from the Ippity set called Moonbeams and Heartstrings. One of my absolute FAV's!
My pattern paper is from My Minds Eye and Basic Grey...not sure now which ones. I also rounded the bottom two corners.
Added a heart cut with the My Creative Time stitched heart die - another one of my favorite things!
Added another leaf, some more twine, some stick on pearls, and more buttons on the bottom. The only downside to this card? It is REALLY heavy!!! I'm sure there would be some serious extra postage charges on this one!
Thanks again for stopping by - make sure and head on over to the Unity Blog to join in the fun!!!

FWF - A Quick Boy Card!

Good morning! I wanted to share a card today for Unity FWF that I actually made a couple of weeks ago and hadn't had time to post yet! I had a baby shower for a friend who had just had a baby boy - who they named Wyatt! Doesn't that name just scream out cowboy?!?!? So the day of the shower, I had gone with my husband to purchase a new truck...which took WAY longer than I expected. So I got home and only had about 15 minutes to put a card together...good think it was for a boy! If it had been a girl one, there is NO way I could have thrown it together in time!
I had just received this stamp in the mail as a prize winning, so I was itching to ink it up! I stamped and quickly colored it with Copics (please don't look too closely at the mistakes!)
Added a sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps, and matted it on October Afternoon Sasparilla paper.
Also inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink, and added some PTI twine tied in a knot.
Hope you are having a wonderful Friday - and have a

October Afternoon Farmhouse Layouts

I have been trying to sneak a bit of scrapbooking in between a busy life, and lots of design team projects - and these are two of my favorite recent pages. I actually finished them a few weeks ago, but hadn't gotten around to sharing them here yet. Pretty much just used LOTS of October Afternoon goodies, a touch of lace, some crinkle ribbon, and a lace doily on the first one:

For the second one, I had been wanting to do a starburst on a layout for a while, and these papers from October Afternoon Farmhouse collection were PERFECT for it!

Short and sweet today! Sorry about that! But I promise there is lots coming soon! I have something made for Friends with Flair tomorrow, then some Peachy Keen sneak peeks are coming soon too! You are going to LOVE the newest release! Then next week Peachy Keen is teaming up with Core'dinations for a blog hop, and it is my day to post on the Peachy Keen blog next Friday. The following week, I'm the Growing in Unity gal for the week, as well as another post for My Craft Spot, and a new challenge at Peachy Keen.

Whew...all that, and trying to get our house cleaned, spruced up, and ready to sell...and then there is moving...now I know why I'm tired! Anyway - I will see you soon with lots more! Have a great day!

Market Street Paint the Town Color Challenge - with Paint Spatters!

Good morning! I am combining two challenges this morning - the Market Street Stamps May Paint the Town Color Challenge, and the Moxie Fab Paint Spatter Technique Challenge. Here is what I made:
And here is the color combination - so pretty, don't you think?

I used the "Riding By" set by Market Street stamps for the bike - which I stamped on the card, then on scrap paper to cut out and mask the bike image. Then I added the spatters using some October Afternoon sprinklers.
After I removed the mask, I used Copics to lightly color in the bike, then added a strip of paper from Basic Grey's new What's Up 6x6 paper pad.
Rounded the top corner and stamped the sentiment, then added a couple of stick on pearls and a bit of Papertrey Ink button twine to finish it off.
Hope you are having a great holiday weekend! Have a beautiful day!

Thank FULL - FWF Friday!

Can't believe another Friday is here! Where are the weeks going?!?!?! But since it is Friday, I'm playing along with Unity Stamp Company's Friday Friends with Flair again. This week I am sharing a reject from one of the last publication calls (in case you were wondering why I'm sharing a fall themed card!):
This is another card I made using a 6x6 piece of paper folded in half for the card base. All the papers are from My Mind's Eye.
I used my Tim Holtz distress tool on one layer of pattern paper, then a Fiskars notebook edge punch on another one. Added a square of burlap - then that great jar stamp from a Unity Stamp KOTM (can't remember which one, and I'm not at home so I can't look right now!)
I fussy cut, then pop-dotted the jar from the background, and tied a bit of twine from Papertrey Ink around the top. The sentiment is from the same KOTM, and I stamped it on pattern paper before cutting it out and adding it to the top of the jar, also with pop-dots!
So glad you dropped in today! Hope to see you again soon!!!

New May Peachy Keen Kit of the Month Sneak Peaks!

Good morning! I get to share some sneak peeks with you today for the brand new May Kit of the Month from Peachy Keen! You will be able to find all the info on the new releases HERE. I have two cards I made with the new sets - one for Mother's Day, and one for Father's Day! LOVE that this set has a sentiment for each! Here is the first one:
As soon as I saw these images, I instantly thought of this paper from my Basic Grey Konichiwa 6x6 paper pad - isn't it perfect?
I colored the images a bit with my Copics, then cut them out by hand. I then punched a tiny hole in each lamp, then threaded through some PTI twine to "hang" the lanterns, and pop-dotted them from the card base.
I placed the sentiment on a piece of cardstock, inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, then tucked it under the center panel of patterned paper.
And here is the next card:
Isn't that image so cute?!?!? I added a face to it as well, and colored with some Copics. When I showed it to my husband, he said it needed smoke. So...I cut the steam swirl off of the top of the tea cut from last months KOTM, and cut a slit to tuck it in close so it looks like smoke coming out! Here is a pic of the kit:

The tools are also from the brand new May Kit, colored and tucked behind the sentiment banner (which I hand trimmed) - and then pop-dotted on the bottom for a bit of dimension.
I used My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper for the denim background, and the gingham paper was from a Lily Bee Design 6x6 paper pad.
Also inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink.
And here is a pic of the new Kit! Isn't it darling?!?!?!

Well - if you made it to the end of this long post - thanks for sticking around!!! Make sure and check out the new releases HERE!!!

Random Fall card - thank you!

I know...I really am in the wrong season! But I made this card for the last Paper Crafts publication call, then I sent it in to the Stamping Royalty contest...and, well...there just isn't anything left to do but post it here!
I did something a little new and different on this card. I tore little pieces of paper scraps, glued them down, then stamped and used that to paper-piece this cool tree from Unity Stamps on a Nestabilities shape.
I inked the edges, then stacked it on top of some burlap, attaching it with a brad at top and bottom.
The pattern paper are from some My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pads. I wrapped some crinkle ribbon around, as well as some PTI twine tied through a PTI button.
Thanks for visiting me this morning! Have a great day!

Paper Crafts April Gallery Challenge Part 2

And...here is card #2 for the Paper Crafts April Gallery Challenge - Silhouettes. I also sent this in for the Stamping Royalty contest in the holiday category.
For this one, I used a silhouette stamp from Inkadinkado, inked it up with Papertrey ink red ink, then stamp kissed it with Unity Stamps Worn Music background. Love the effect it has!
I also used the music background on the kraft paper layered behind the image. The striped paper is from October Afternoon's Holiday style 8x8 paper pad. The sentiment is another Unity stamp, from the September 2011 KOTM.
Used a Martha Stewart border punch for the black trim on the side, then added some October Afternoon lace trim, and a bit of PTI twine. Oh yes, and a little bling from Michael's.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Crafts April Gallery Challenge

Good morning! I am posting a couple of posts today for the Paper Crafts April Gallery Challenge - Silhouettes. This is my first post, and is one of the cards I sent in for the Stamping Royalty Contest. Obviously, it didn't win, but it was fun to throw one out there anyway!
I started off by cutting and embossing an oval with my Nestabilities. I cut a smaller oval, and used the negative as a mask to apply Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. Over the top of that, I stamped the Worn Music background from Unity Stamps. Then, I used a Hero Arts silhouette stamp, and added a birthday hat from Unity Stamp's Hugs and Kitties set.
The blue background paper is from Basic Grey's Picadilly 6x6 paper pad. The red is from a My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline 6x6 paper pad.  Wrapped some PTI twine and a PTI button around the polka dot paper, before attaching the oval with foam adhesive. I then stamped a couple of sentiments from Unity Stamps small sentiment set, {...party all day} on some hand trimmed kraft paper banners, and added some bling from my local Michael's store.
Finished off by matting with some black paper, and using foam adhesive to attach the whole thing to a kraft paper card base.
Alrighty...next silhouette post coming right up!

Fun with Friends with Flair

I just love this cute little Ippity umbrella! I have been on a quest to ink up all the stamps I won from the last Ippity release - can't believe it took me this long to get this one inky! So I got it done this week, and am linking it up for Friends with Flair over at Unity:
I stamped and colored it with Copic markers, then ran it through my Cuttlebug with my Papertrey Ink Linen Impression Plate. LOVE the texture it added!
Next, I distressed the edges a bit with a Tim Holtz distress tool, and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink. I tucked a doily behind it, that I crumpled up a bit to add some texture.
The paper is from an older Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad - part of my quest to use up some of my older papers!
I finished off with some trims from October Afternoon's Sidewalks wrap pack, and a tiny bit of PTI twine tied around.
Hope your day is happy today - although I hope that it's raining sunshine on you instead of the liquid variety!!!

Chick Challenges with Ippity

Good evening! I got this made early this morning, but didn't end up having time to post it until now. This is my entry in the current Chick Challenges {with Ippity}:
And here is the sketch for the challenge:

I used one of the new Ippity stamps I won from the new release last month and hadn't inked up yet. At first I wasn't really in love with this stamp...but I was determined to ink it up - and I must say it is kind of growing on me! I used papers from an older Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper pad - I am starting to notice that in training myself not to hoard my newer papers, I am ONLY using my newer ones! So the old ones are piling up and need some love too! So I have challenged myself to try and do some of both now! We'll see how that goes! Anyway, I stamped the image on one of the pattern papers, and colored her in with my Copics.
I added some Glossy Accents to the hearts, centers of the flowers, crown, eyes, lips, and cheeks!
The glossy accents adds a little fun shine to it! I love that!
I finished off with some green ribbon from October Afternoons Sidewalk wrap pack, and added a PTI button and some PTI twine bow.
Thanks for stopping by to visit! Hope you are having a great evening, and will see you all again soon!

I am also linking this up with the Unity Opportunity Blog Linky Party.
