PS SPARKS Anything Goes - Thanks Bunches!

Hello! Welcome to the last challenge of the month over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!  Here is what I put together:

Since this is the 5th challenge date in July, it means it is anything goes!

I used Vegtastic stamp set to layer and paper piece my vegetables using a Lily Bee Designs 6x6 paper pad. I added the sentiment by curving it on my clear block before inking and stamping.

Top edge is cut with a Fiskars Edge Punch. I added lots of layers of matting on this one too! Added the wiggly eyes because they are so fun, and finished off with some jute twine and an October Afternoon button.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Please stop by and see what the rest of the SPARKS team put together:

Unity Pennants and Banners September Challenge

Hi there! I took a little time last night to create something for the Unity September Pennants and Banner's Challenge - obviously I chose to use banners! I also did a little something new for me - and I had so much fun! Here is what I made:
To start with, for the background - I just got my first Mr. Huey's mist and one of their overlay's, so I used the overlay and some October Afternoon sprinklers, as well as my one Mister Huey mist to create the background. I started with a gray OA sprinkler sprayed on the overlay placed on white paper, then added some thicker drops of a blue OA sprinkler, and the yellow Mr Huey's mist.
I trimmed it down and rounded the two bottom corners. Then I used some strips of Lily Bee Design's papers and trimmed them into banners, arranged them how I liked, then stuck them down. (Of course, as I tried to stick them down they all fell apart - so I had to redo that a couple of times, but it finally came together how I liked!) I curled the bottom edges of the banners just slightly for fun too.
The sentiment is from the June 2012 Kit of the month - and I stamped it with gray Versamark ink.
I wrapped some twine from the Twinery in one of their newest colors - Ocean - around the card before attaching the sentiment with foam adhesive over the top, then added a little bow on the side with a stick on pearl in the center.
I think this is a lot more "mixed media" than I have really done before - but it was so much fun! I have lots of the October Afternoon Sprinklers, and loved the Mister Huey's spray, so I'm sure I will be using them a lot more! Thanks for stopping by today!

WCMD - Unity Stamp a Border Challenge

Okay - next up was a totally fun challenge! Stamp a border, using Unity stamps and a non-border stamp! Here is what I came up with:
I stamped that thimble several times to make my border, then stamped the sentiment with Papertrey Ink right over the top.
All the pattern papers are from Lily Bee Designs, and I added another punched border with a Martha Stewart border punch.
I finished off with a little touch of red Baker's Twine - I think that is my favorite color of twine!
I think this is one of my favorite cards for these challenges! So fun to get challenged to try new things, don't you think?

Peachy Keen Halloween/Fall Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to an INCREDIBLE Peachy Hop with the current AND alumni Design Team! If you are hopping here from Ruthie, you are in the right spot (and nearing the end of the hop!) - but if you just happened along and want to join in on the fun, make sure and head back to the Peachy Keen blog to find the entire hop line-up. There are a total of $150 in prizes being given away - so you don't want to miss a stop! To win, leave a comment at each stop - winners will be picked on Friday, and announced on Saturday!

Here is the card I made for the hop:
I used the awesome September Kit of the Month:

If you haven't heard about the amazing Kit of the Month - make sure and click HERE to read all the details. Kathy does an incredible job each month putting together an amazing stamp kit - I am always astounded by the fun variety! Like this month, for example, I love that there are tons of cute images, but there are also several that are more classy and elegant. You can't go wrong - and you won't be disappointed! Each kit is 8 1/2 by 11 - so much fun!

For my card for the hop, I used the image in the bottom right corner and used my Tim Holtz distress markers to color it before stamping on kraft paper.
All 3 pattern papers are by different manufacturers from my stash: the yellow from Lilly Bee Designs, the green from Cosmo Cricket, and the woodgrain from Crate Paper.
I used a Fiskar's border punch along the bottom edge, and tied some beautiful green ribbon from Ribbon Carousel in a knot bow.
The sentiment is from September Kit of the Month as well, and I added a few stick on pearls to finish it off.
That's it for me! Your next stop is the amazing Peachy Queen herself - Kathy! Don't forget to leave a comment before you hop off - and then enjoy the last couple stops along the way!

I am also linking this up to the Moxie Fab World Card Design Week Gallon/Quart/Pint Challenge.  My Gallon color is that yellow/orange, the quart is the green, and the pint is the brown in the background and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL week!!!

Sometimes Life Just Sucks - MSS Block Party

It's Block Party Time again over at Market Street Stamps! So I pulled out this little cutie that I had been itching to ink up (get it? "itching?" - I know, I know...sorry!)
I stamped him on a circle cut with my Nestabilities, and colored him a bit with some Copic markers.
Ran some white paper through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder, and added some Champagne chevron stripe ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.
The background paper is from a Lily Bee Designs 6x6 paper pad - and I finished off with a couple of stick on red pearls.
Thanks for the visit! Always love to see you here!!!

Peachy Keen Post Day - Birthday Cupcake!

Good morning! It's my day to post on the Peachy Keen blog, and since today is my daughter Katie's 9th birthday (YIKES! Where does the time GO?!?!?) - I thought I would share a birthday card. When I finished this, I thought it might look just a little too crazy - there is a lot going on! But...that makes it more fun for a kids birthday card, right?
Here are all the Peachy Goodies I used on my card:

I started off by cutting out my cupcake using my Silhouette Cameo machine, some Lily Bee Designs paper, and THIS file from the Silhouette store. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, and then added my Peachy face, using a Copic marker for the cheeks, and a white gel pen for the eyes and freckles.
The background is kraft paper that I ran through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. I hand trimmed the banners that the sentiments are on, and attached them with foam adhesive in the centers, and an ATG gun on the sides, so that they have some dimension.
Rounded off one corner, and added some red bling randomly on the background.
And then put my cupcake on an Action Wobble! This SOOO seriously ups the cuteness factor of any card! I think it makes any card so much fun! If you haven't tried them - you really should give them a try! Here are a couple photos of it in action:

Finished off with a banner on the bottom using some of the papers from the same paper pad, and a Fiskars punch. Attached them to the card, and ran some twine along the top. And...just because it seemed like "something" was missing, I added a bit of musical note ribbon from Ribbon carousel along the bottom.
I'm so glad you stopped by today! Would love to hear what you think...does this card have too much going on, or is it okay?

Loads of Love

Good afternoon! I had a few early morning moments today to make this card for the current Chick Challenges with Ippity! I fell in love with this stamp and had to have it when it came out...and am ashamed to admit that I hadn't even inked it up until this morning!
Here is the current sketch:

I used some papers from a Lily Bee Designs 6x6 paper pad, and tucked a doily in between the two layers.
Colored the image with Copics, and then cut it out by hand. Also colored a bit on the sentiment after stamping it on the doily.
Added some of the striped chevron ribbon from Ribbon Carousel, as well as a bit of lace from them as well.
Finished off by attaching the image over the ribbon with foam adhesive for dimension - and also so that it would fit!
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

New May Peachy Keen Kit of the Month Sneak Peaks!

Good morning! I get to share some sneak peeks with you today for the brand new May Kit of the Month from Peachy Keen! You will be able to find all the info on the new releases HERE. I have two cards I made with the new sets - one for Mother's Day, and one for Father's Day! LOVE that this set has a sentiment for each! Here is the first one:
As soon as I saw these images, I instantly thought of this paper from my Basic Grey Konichiwa 6x6 paper pad - isn't it perfect?
I colored the images a bit with my Copics, then cut them out by hand. I then punched a tiny hole in each lamp, then threaded through some PTI twine to "hang" the lanterns, and pop-dotted them from the card base.
I placed the sentiment on a piece of cardstock, inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, then tucked it under the center panel of patterned paper.
And here is the next card:
Isn't that image so cute?!?!? I added a face to it as well, and colored with some Copics. When I showed it to my husband, he said it needed smoke. So...I cut the steam swirl off of the top of the tea cut from last months KOTM, and cut a slit to tuck it in close so it looks like smoke coming out! Here is a pic of the kit:

The tools are also from the brand new May Kit, colored and tucked behind the sentiment banner (which I hand trimmed) - and then pop-dotted on the bottom for a bit of dimension.
I used My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper for the denim background, and the gingham paper was from a Lily Bee Design 6x6 paper pad.
Also inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink.
And here is a pic of the new Kit! Isn't it darling?!?!?!

Well - if you made it to the end of this long post - thanks for sticking around!!! Make sure and check out the new releases HERE!!!

MFT Getting Sketchy #68 - It's a Country Thing

Hello! Just posting my entry for this weeks Getting Sketchy Challenge! Here is my card this week:
And here is the sketch for the week:

I went back to my Pure Innocence stamps, and inked up this sweet cowgirl again. She is definitely one of my favorites! The papers are all from Lily Bee Designs Buttercup 6x6 Tiny Tablet. LOVE the color combo on those papers!
I colored the stamp in using my Copic markers, stamped the sentiment stacked, then masked out the image, and stamped the script the MFT set called First Class Friend. It didn't work as well as I planned...didn't stamp hard enough the first time, so I had to go over it a couple of times. Learned from that mistake for next time I guess!
I inked the edges of everything with Gray Versamark ink, and made a hand trimmed banner along the bottom.
Added a PTI button, and some gray Baker's Twine to finish it off. Almost forgot - the edge is punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you soon!
