I have been pondering for a while what to make for Map to your Heart Challenge over on Moxie Fab World, and when this idea popped into my head, I just HAD to give it a try! Here is my take:
I used some map paper from on October Afternoon 8x8 paper stack called Thrift Shop. I used my stitched heart die from My Creative Time, and die cut the heart from the middle of my piece of map paper.
I then inked the edges of the pattern paper, and the die cut heart with Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China and Peeled Paint, then stuck the large piece of paper directly on my card base, and pop-dotted the heart from the spot it had been cut from.
The sentiment is from my Unity Stamp Company December 2011 Kit of the Month.I cut a strip of cardstock, stamped my sentiment, then hand trimmed the arrow shape on the side. Inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen, and adhered that to the card.
Finished off with a couple of coordinating Papertrey Ink buttons, tied up with some Papertrey Ink rustic jute button twine.
I'm pretty happy with it! I love how the heart pops out at you, which is kind of a play on the sentiment. The map represents miles, but the heart is closer than the miles! LOVE this sentiment, and LOVE this die shape! You can't see it very well in the picture, but the edges of the heart has the CUTEST little stitching on it from the die!!! SOOO much fun - will definitely be using this one a lot!!!
Thanks for stopping by - hope you are having a great weekend!
