Ribbon Carousel Design Team - Fall Inspiration!

{{{If you are looking for my Sneak Peak Day 2 for My Creative Time, scroll down to the last post, or click HERE}}}

Good morning! I am SUPER DUPER excited to share that I was recently invited to join the Ribbon Carousel Design Team! I have been eyeing a Ribbon Carousel for a very long time - and came so close so many times to purchasing one, but to be perfectly honest, I was afraid I wouldn't like it as much as I thought I would! Well...I can easily put those fears to rest! I now have a beautiful one sitting assembled in my craft area - and I wonder how I survived without it! Seriously! Anyway - I will post more on that at the end of this post! For now...here is my card for the second week of inspiration for the Ribbon Carousel Monthly Challenge:

The challenge for this month is Fall and Halloween:
As always - the prize is this (kind of fabulous if you ask me!):

I actually set out to case THIS card by Debby Hughes...but now that I see it finished, I feel like I must have been thinking a little of Laurel Seabrook and either this card HERE, or perhaps this project HERE, or this card HERE...or any other number of fabulous projects by her! The feel of this just reminds me of her style - which I happen to love!

I used some Pebbles pattern paper, stamped some leaves from the Unity August Kit of the Month with Hero Arts ink on kraft paper, then fussy cut them out. Tied them together with some jute twine, added some crinkle ribbon (recycling some that came in a package holding my product together!), a folded banner from Simon Says Stamp, tucked a doily behind, and added some enamel dots.

Now...more about that ribbon carousel! I (of course!) forgot to take pictures in daylight, so sorry for the bad lighting! It is still beautiful though, isn't it?

So - do you want to know what I loved most about it? Besides the fact that I can fit a LOT of ribbon in a small area? And that it is so beautiful? (You can choose from 3 different colors of nobs! I picked PINK! And I LOVE it!)

So the thing I love the most about it, is what I was afraid I would NOT like about it. Ironic, isn't it? I usually grab my ribbon, wrap it around my card or project to decide what I want and such. I was afraid I wouldn't like not being able to pick it up easily and move it around. Turns out though - I don't have to do that as much because now I can easily see what I have and what matches my project perfectly! And...not having to hold the spool frees my hands up to do what I want them to do - tie my bows, wrap around, and cut where I want without wasting any!

I'm happy to report that all the time I spent debating was in vain! I am in love! That is all!

Have a great day today! Bye for now!

  2. Your card is very beautiful...the leaf stamp is super and I like the dimension of the banner. Did you say you loved your ribbon carousel? I can see why...it is awesome and colorful. Good to see all of your choices and no digging into a bin. Wonderful idea.
