Washi Tape Letterpress Technique

Hello! Dropping in today to share my first entry to Paper Crafts Magazine's 2014 Gallery Idol Open Auditions! The beginning theme is decorative tape - so I put my thinking cap on to come up with something creative. As it turned out - I happened upon this idea by accident, from the leftovers of a failed idea! LOVE when that happens!

I've never seen a technique like this - so I thought I would do a video to share how I did it. Here is the card I made using this technique:

Here is my video:

This picture might show the effect a little better - fun embossed and washi tape filled image and sentiment:

I used Paper Smooches Anchor Die, and the hello word from Quote Tag Dies.  I trimmed the front panel at a wonky angle, and added some score lines with my Score Buddy score board. I also layered some of the orange washi tape on strips of white cardstock, then attached that behind my front panel. Finished off with some jute twine tied in a bow, and attached the front panel with foam adhesive to a card base of PTI cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Best of luck to all those entering Gallery Idol this year!
