Reverse Watercolor Sympathy Cards

Hello! I don't know about anyone else, but for me, watercoloring is quite simply one of the most relaxing things in the world! Truly my happy place and therapy! This past week has been pretty busy, but I ended up with a bit of quiet time this morning, so I sat down and used my MISTI, a couple of Altenew sets that I had purchased a while back and not had time to get inky, and some watercolors to put together a bunch of sympathy cards.

I used to hate making multiples of cards - and now I seem to have trouble making just making one! I used my MISTI to make it easy to stamp multiples of these, first stamping the flower and sentiment, then masking off the flower to add the leaves. Then it was just a matter of picking different watercolors and doing some messy coloring around the image - love the way this quite simply sets off the beautiful floral image.

Here is a close up of each of them:

This one was a bit more bold - but I love that emerald green tone:

And this is actually the first one I did - then I decided I liked them better with the flower and leaves uncolored.

Also linking these up with a couple challenges - first up, this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge (the yellow and green cards of these):

And also the Simon Says Monday Challenge - Monochrome (all but the last card):

Here are links to the products I used on this including affiliate links where possible. Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

  5. Loving all the colors! Leaving the flower plain was good...I like it better without color.

  6. I saw this set of card on FB and I LOVE all the watercolour layers on the background. Love how the colour is brought in through the background and not the focal point. Brilliant set of card. I LOVE all the details and spatters, Heather. Thanks for playing along Simon Says Stamp Mask It challenge. Gayatri xx
