Altenew February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Good morning! I am thrilled again this morning to be hopping along with Altenew to celebrate the BRAND NEW February 2019 Release! You can find the entire release HERE.

So - fair warning - this is a VERY photo heavy post! I have a total of 8 cards to share, so make sure to get all the way to the bottom for the giveaway info!

I'm starting off with this lovely trio featuring the new Exotic Tulips Stamp and Die set. A couple of them also feature sentiments from the new Reason to Smile stamp set - full of wonderful sentiments!

I love how easy it is to alter the feel of these tulips just by switching out the ink colors and layers. They can go from soft to bold so quickly!

I also added some soft stenciling for interest on the backgrounds to each card.

For this first, softest color tulips, I actually skipped stamping the base layers of the flowers and leaves, and just stamped the next layers with the softest colors of ink. The stenciling on this background was created with Mega Hydrangea Stencil.

This next one steps up the bold colors by one step, stamping the base layer in the palest colors of ink, then building to darker. The stenciling on this one was created with Spring Garden Stencil.

And finally, for the deepest and boldest one - I started with the base layer in a deeper shade, then built darker from there! This one uses Flowing Drops Stencil for the background.

All the inks I used are linked below if you are curious - LOTS of Altenew inks on my cards today! They are perfect for layering stamps, and also worked lovely for all this stenciling!

Which is your favorite - soft, medium, or bold?

Next up, I have a duo of cards featuring the new Baroque Motifs stamp set!

For this first one, I did some soft blue ink blending on my background, then stamped a couple of the elements from this stamp set in a deeper blue shade over the soft background for a tone on tone effect.

I added a hefty dose of splatters with some of that same deep blue ink, as well as my Starry Colors Palette for some gold shine. Then I added a sentiment from the previously released Fancy Frames, heat embossed in silver on a bit of black cardstock, and popped up with foam adhesive.

The second card I stamped and heat embossed in clear on my white cardbase, then did some resist ink blending over the top in soft blue. Love the soft effect this gives!

Added a sentiment from Reason to Smile, heat embossed in white on a strip of black cardstock, then mounted at an angle on foam adhesive with a twist of silver thread popped underneath.

Would love to hear which version of this you like best?

Have you noticed I seem to love making sets of cards? Haha! Next up, the lovely Dotted Blooms are so beautiful and simple for an elegant card!

I basically created the same card twice - but changed up the feel just by changing the colors of the card. This first one features the sentiment and frame from Fancy Frames heat embossed on a panel of vellum in white, then with the soft pink florals over the top.

I also added some jute twine, and some of the brand new Nuvo Dream Drops that I was lucky enough to bring home from Creativation - these are in Love Potion - and they are so fun! Creamy and smooth, with the perfect iridescent shine!

This second one has a slightly bolder feel, due to the deeper colors I used! For this one, I heat embossed with gold on the vellum, then used a range of teal inks on the florals.

To soften it up a bit, I used a softer jute string, and then added some coordinating Nuvo Dream Drops in Dragon Scales (isn't that a fun name?)

There is a nice soft feel to these thanks to the texture of the vellum on the background, and the the florals popped up on foam adhesive add just the right touch of dimension.

And ONE final card to share - you are almost to the end! This one features a leftover flower from the 50th wedding anniversary card I made for my parents a couple weeks ago (details HERE if you want to see that card) - and pairs it up with a fun sentiment from Reason to Smile!

I first added some black splatters to my card base using Pinkfresh Liquid Watercolors in Licorice, and let that dry thoroughly.

Once that dried, I attached the flower and leaves at the bottom corner of my card, and then added my sentiments at fun jaunty angles.

Finished off with a few white jewels for just a touch of sparkle! Love the simple elegance of this card - and the encouraging sentiment!

I would love to hear which set is at the top of your wish list - or which of these 8 cards is your favorite! I seriously had WAY too much FUN with this release!
