Good morning! Still celebrating the fun month of DieCember at Simon Says Stamp - a month devoted to celebrating die cutting. I'm back today to share another card using some of the DieCember Release - this time, I featuring lots die cutting, and some simple stamping for the sentiment.
I used the fun new Fir Sprig die with different colors of cardstock to create the texture on the top. I die cut it a few times from Snow White Velvet Luxury cardstock, and then also a couple times from Matte Gold cardstock. I knew I wanted to leave lots of bright white space on my card, so this allowed for that, while also adding some fun texture to the white pieces.
I layered them across the top of my panel, adhering them down with a bit of liquid glue in certain spots. Once I had them all attached, I trimmed off extras from around the edges with scissors.
You can see from this photo, that some of the edges float free, which adds some extra dimension - I love how easy that is to do, without adding bulk!
For the sentiment, I broke out the Joy to You and Yours stamp set from the December Card Kit - the coordinating die actually was included in the DieCember release! While I didn't use it on this card, I thought it was worth mentioning. :)
I heat embossed the larger sentiment in gold powder under the die cut sprigs, and then stamped the secondary sentiment under that with black ink. Using my MISTI of course for each of those for perfect alignment!
And that completes this card - I thought about adding bling, but decided that this was perfect as is. I know it seems odd to think a card doesn't need bling, but sometimes, it just feels right without it!
