Hello! Super excited to finally be able to share some fun cards I made with the brand new My Favorite release from Simon Says Stamp!!! These adorable and chubby Cuddly Critters and hilarious sentiments in Mother's Day Zingers both stole my heart right from the start! So I pulled out my watercolor paper and distress inks to put together these quick, happy, and fun cards!
I will probably try to make a video showing the technique I used on these - but it was super fun!
I paired different bright color combos for each background, rubbed them in a stripe, chevron, or wave pattern on acetate, then used the smooshing technique. I misted my watercolor paper with water, then smooshed the acetate with the ink over it. I love how they came out!
I did each of the critters uncolored, except for a bit of pink for ears, paws, cheeks, etc...then added wiggly eyes to each one! I think it just ups the cuteness factor even MORE if that is possible!
Notice how the wiggy eyes are even rolling in this photo! Hilarious! My 12 year old daughter already told me she wants to borrow this set to make me a Mother's Day card - just because of this sentiment!
I die cut them with the coordinating Cuddly Critters Wafer Dies, then mounted with foam tape on my backgrounds.
I added the stamped sentiments underneath, and also stamped a few random of the tiny hearts from Mother's Day Zingers - love those tiny stamps and how fun they are to use and add a little something extra!
I die cut some coordinating Simon Says Card Stock with a Mama Elephant die and tucked that behind - I love how it just slightly peeks out and gives it a finished look.
I had to use a slightly smaller size of eye for the panda - but I was so glad it worked!
Whew! Sorry for the picture heavy post - and if you made it here, thanks for sticking around until the end! I have supplies linked below, and you can find the entire new release HERE - I have a feeling some of this is going to sell out fast, so get your order in quick if there is something you have your eye on!
