Giving Thanks - PPP October Release Hop and Giveaway

Good morning! Welcome to Day 2 of the hop to celebrate the awesome NEW RELEASE from Pretty Pink Posh! Without further ado, here is my card for the hop:

I made a little mini shaker element for the center of my card using the two largest of the new Stitched Stars dies and insetting the smaller in the larger to make a frame. I love how it looks with the new larger size 1/4" Gold Star Confetti - it is quickly becoming a favorite for me for shakers!

All the images and the sentiment are from the new Giving Thanks stamp set and I used the coordinating Giving Thanks dies to cut each image out. Once they were colored with Copics, I layered some of them on top of my shaker element, and some tucked slightly behind - this adds so much dimension!

I also used some blended distress ink on the bottom of my cardbase before attaching everything - you can even see a touch of the blended color through the window. A little splattering of gold spray shine (hard to see in the photos) and some white paint splatters add to the texture on that part.

I can't believe that shaker cards use to intimidate me - they are seriously SOOO easy for me now, and I love doing them! I also went fairly monochromatic with my colors on this - neutrals with a pop of warm orange - and the gold, of course.

And here's a little sneak peek of another card I'll be posting in the next day or two, again using the new Stitched Stars dies for a shaker, but this time in the panel. I also used the Halloween Friends Stamp set - but since I don't celebrate Halloween, I decided to use the darling little bear. While he looked like he could be a bee or butterfly with the antennae, I though he would look super cute as a "fairy bear" - so I fussy cut him out, and left the wings, but cut off the antennae. I chose colors to coordinate with the new Winter Sparkle Mix of sequins - just to show how it could be used for more than winter as well! Again - I'll have more details on this one on the blog sometime this weekend I hope (as long as this big windstorm we are expecting doesn't knock the power out!)
