Growing in Unity - Day 1 - Courage to Dream

Good morning! I am so excited to be starting off my week of Growing in Unity! In case you aren't familiar with it, I will be sharing a project all week using Unity or Ippity stamps with you, and at the end of the week, I will draw a random winner from those who leave comments throughout the week - and they will win 2 Itty Bitty stamps of their choice!!! So make sure and leave me a comment throughout the week for more chances to be the lucky winner! So...without further ado, here is my first card for the week:
I used the colors from this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge:

I have always loved hot air balloons...the thought of going up in one terrifies me, but I think they are so beautiful! So...the sentiment seemed to be a perfect fit for the images!
I used the hot air balloon and cloud images from the most recent May Kit of the Month, and the sentiment is from the April Kit of the Month. Here is a picture of each of them:

I used pattern paper from one of the new Indie Chic 6x6 paper pads from My Mind's Eye - I'm in love with these lately!!! I stamped and fussy cut out the clouds and hot air balloons, and arranged them on a panel of blue paper.
After matting that panel in black, I adhered it to the background paper (also matted in black) - with washi tape! This was my first attempt at using it, and even though I am still figuring out what to do with it - I am hooked! It is so fun!
I added the sentiment, and pop-dotted the balloons for some dimension.
Finished off with a jute twine bow, and a PTI button.
So glad you stopped by to visit me today! Have a wonderful day - and don't forget to "have Courage to Dream!"

  2. Great card...love the paper...and the tape. I'm just starting to try out that stuff too. Totally agree about the hot air balloons. Love them, but I can't get Wile E Coyote out of my head...the balloon is hit by a dart and he plummets to the ground...I don't want that to be me. Lee-Ann :)
