Cutest Little Critters - and Quick Tip Video!

Good morning! Dropping by again this morning to share a few more cards I made with the new release stamps from Unity Stamp Company - I have a weakness for cute critters - and these ones have stolen my heart!!! I used them to put together a set of cards, using one paper pad, one stamp set, one primary layout - and creating four cards quickly and easily! This is a great way to use up scraps of pattern paper! :)

Here is that video, sharing a bit of my process:

And here are close up photos of each card:

I was originally planning on coloring the images, but decided in the end to keep them simple and black and white. I think it fits the style of these quite well. Something good to know - sometimes it's okay to just leave a cute image to shine on it's own!

Here is some of the sale info - a darling free set, these new Woodland critters, and some darling little Outer Space stamps!!! Eeeeek! The cuteness kills me!

Here are links to the supplies I used on my card. Thanks so much for stopping by this morning - have a wonderful day!!!

Best is Yet to Be - Unity SOTW

Good morning! Dropping by to share a card I made using the brand new Stamp of the Week at Unity Stamp Company - such a pretty image this week! I'm in love with those flowers!

Also, with the linen look ribbon, lacy doily, shiny enamel dots, transparent and glittery washi - all combined with the curled up paper edges, I thought this was a perfect fit for the new Virginia's View Challenge - All About Textures:

All supplies are linked below, except the washi tape which was from my stash and I'm not sure who it is made by, and the doilies, which I purchased off of Etsy.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Hoppy Easter for Avocado Arts

Good morning! I'm up on the Avocado Arts blog this morning to share some projects with the new stamp set for March. Hard to believe that we are nearly halfway through March already! This set is perfectly timed for your spring and Easter projects - called Hoppy Easter:

I started off with those sweet little chicks! They make me smile!

I cut some pinked edge squares with an Avery Elle die, and stamped and colored them in with Copic markers. Attached them with foam adhesive to my pattern paper from Crate Paper with the sentiment heat embossed in white underneath, and added a couple of stitched scallop borders using a Pretty Pink Posh die.

Next up, I used the sweet Easter basket with lots of soft spring pattern papers from Glitz Designs:

I die cut a white scallop border using a Mama Elephant die set for my card base, then added the square stitched border inside, but just de-bossed it instead of cutting. Stamped the basket on a little notebook page cut with a PTI die, colored with Copics, and added some Glossy Accents on the eggs for a bit of shine and dimension. Layered all my pattern papers and machine stitched them together before stacking everything at a fun angle on my card - leaving the threads hanging loose.

Finally, I made a cute, every-so-tiny shaker card using the little bunny!

I think it looks darling peeking out of it's window with some Pretty Pink Posh seed beads inside! I die cut both shapes with an Avery Elle die set. I also colored him with Copics before assembling the shaker, and stamped my sentiment on a hand trimmed banner.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Gold Feathers - PTI Anniversary Challenge

Hello! Popping in really quick today with a few last minute challenge cards! Had a fun and productive evening last night, and made a few to catch up on several I had been wanting to play along with! First up, one for one of the Papertrey Ink challenges - Use nothing but metallics and neutrals:

I used a stamp set I have had for quite a while, and hasn't seen nearly enough use - Feather Finery, and the coordinating Feather Finery Dies. They were stamped on vellum and embossed in gold. I used my Score Board to make a framed score line on the card base using Rustic Cream cardstock, and misted a bit with some Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. Tucked some gold thread behind the feathers, attached with a tiny piece of foam adhesive at the top and a dot of glue on the bottoms, and added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Finished off with a few drips of black Color Shine.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back soon with another challenge card!

Beautiful Day Fall Leaf

Good morning! Happy Friday! Just sharing my card this morning for Unity Friends with Flair:

For this card, I used the leaf from the August 2013 Kit of the Month, and a sentiment from the September 2013 Kit of the Month. I stamped on my cardstock, then debossed with a PTI woodgrain Impression Plate, then added some Stickles. Pattern paper is by Glitz designs, and a bit of washi tape and a few sequins finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

I'm back! And Unity FWF...

Hello there! Wow...I feel like I have been gone forever! So sorry that I kind of disappeared these past few weeks...we received a call in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago - one of those calls that turns your world upside down and leaves you grieving. My father-in-law passed away very unexpectedly, after a brief but intense battle with depression and mental illness he took his own life. We packed and left that day to travel back to be with family. Our lives will never be the same - there is a hole in our family that will never be filled. However, we are clinging to the Lord through this time, and He has continued as always to be so faithful! So grateful for his comfort as we cling to the truth and promises in His Word. We know the man he was, and that he had placed his faith in Jesus many years ago, and lived his life following and serving the Lord - and what happened at the end of his life was not who he was. Still heartbreaking though...

I finally returned home earlier this week, but it has taken a few days to settle back in. I noticed I did have a card that posted a couple of days ago (that was a complete accident - I didn't realize it was scheduled to auto-post...but since it was a sympathy card, I thought it was so perfectly appropriate). I am slowly starting to work ahead on some different design team projects - so grateful for the understanding from each of the teams I am honored to work with in allowing me the time to travel home to be with family without worrying about assignments. THANK you to all of them - I am privileged to work with some amazing people in this industry!

So, I thought I would join in with Unity Friends with Flair this morning, with this card that I actually had finished several weeks ago, and didn't have time to post:

Edited to Add: It was pointed out to me (thanks Taheerah!) that I should link this up with the current Cure for the Monday Blue's Challenge:

I used the August Kit of the Month to make this card. I used the negative from a Papertrey ink die cut as a stencil, and inked it in with distress ink. Added the leaves and sentiment with MFT ink, then added some flicks of watered down red ink and some clear sequins to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and for letting me share. We are also in the process of beginning relocating from Wyoming back to Washington State, which brings with it an entire different set of challenges! I will be trying to craft as I have time, but plan on taking advantage of lots of submission cards that I have in my stash that were never picked up - so hopefully even in the transition to a new location, I should be able to keep the blog from getting too quiet! I am also working ahead on lots of fun new stuff that I can't wait to share...new release fun coming later this month. In the meantime - have a great weekend!
