STAMPtember Collaboration - Studio Katia

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping.

Today is kicking off the first of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! So first up we have...Studio Katia with not one, but TWO stamp sets - and if you purchase one, you can get the other one for FREE! Isn't that the best! Today is Simon Says Stamp founder Heidi's birthday, and she wanted to do something extra special today to celebrate the occasion!

I have two cards to share today - using BOTH of these sets for a two for one card design!

First up, I die cut a heart window from some aqua cardstock using a Memory Box heart die that I love - the inside cuts a basic heart, the outside leaves a triple line of stitching around the negative space.

I chose some coordinating ink to stamp the florals on my white cardbase so that they would show through the window for a tone on tone look.

I stamped the sentiment, mounted the window over the top with foam adhesive, and added a few Pretty Pink Posh jewels to bling it up a bit.

I love the simple tone-on-tone look - and the window is such a fun way to showcase those florals!

Now - you don't think I throw away that heart I die cut, right?

Nope! I used the same ink to stamp the florals from the other stamp set over the heart, not filling the entire image. This gives another tone on tone look!

I trimmed a panel of white cardstock down smaller than my cardbase, and blended that same ink color very softly around the edges to help pull the colors together.

Stamped the sentiment, added a few more of those Pretty Pink Posh jewels, and mounted the layers together with foam adhesive for plenty of dimension!

And there you go - a perfect and easy card set. Which one is your favorite?

Dip Dye Watercolor Butterfly Thinking of You Cards

Hello! Dropping by this morning with a quick card. I am super excited to be part of the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp as a Guest - but I also thought it would be fun to play along with some of the lessons when I have time as well! This is for Day 8 of the class. You can find all the supplies I used linked at the bottom of this post! Oh - and you can go HERE to check out the card camp, it's not too late to sign up - you can always go back and go through the class even at a later time!

This day's lessons was perhaps one of my favorites! Faux Dip Dye watercolor - something I have always tried to recreate and never been this successful! I did the backgrounds two different ways, then added some tiny frames, layered die cut butterflies, and a sentiment from the most recent Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. Here are some more photos and close ups:

With a Grateful Heart - Memory Box

Good morning! I'm back today to share one more card with some of the fun new dies and stamps from Memory Box that I received recently to play with - so many beautiful Valentine and love themed items! I've used a couple more of these beautiful dies to work on this card today!

I started off by die cutting the beautiful Leafy Heart craft die from gold glitter cardstock.

Next, I die cut the large Heart Airy Script die from white cardstock, and layered two fo them together for a bit of a thicker word embellishment.

I added 3 strips of colored cardstock to a white horizontal cardbase to add a pop of color to help that large word show up on the background.

I adhered all the layers together, and added a supporting sentiment by using a portion of one of the sentiments from Grateful Autumn, heat embossed on a bit of black cardstock.

Thinking of You Butterflies - Memory Box

Good morning! I'm back today to share another card with some of the fun new dies and stamps from Memory Box that I received recently to play with - so many beautiful Valentine and love themed items! I've put several of the new dies to work on this card I'm sharing today - and I'm in love with all of them!

I started off by using the gorgeous Pinpoint Leaf Plate on a panel of white cardstock - love the subtle design this leaves behind! I then cut a window from that panel using one of the Double Stitch Loving Heart dies - do you see that pretty row of stitching it leaves around the window?

Next, I did some ink blending on a white cardbase using Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks, adding some splatters with Perfect Pearls for some texture and shine. I then adhered my front panel over that with foam adhesive.

Next, I die cut the butterflies! I used the Gloriosa Butterfly Duo Background to die cut the butterflies from vellum, and the Gloriosa Butterfly Duo Outlines to die cut the front layers. The main outline was done from gold glitter cardstock, then black for the body portion. I layered them together with tiny bits of liquid glue just in the centers - this leaves a bit of a loose feel to them as well!

I adhered those around the windows - again just with a bit of liquid glue in the centers of the butterflies. The sentiment is from Friendship Floral Heart stamp set, heat embossed on a thin strip of black cardstock, trimmed into a banner, and then mounted with foam adhesive. Finally, and few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Jewels finish this card off!

Friendship Across the Miles - Memory Box

Good morning! I recently received some fun new dies and stamps from Memory Box to play with - so many beautiful Valentine and love themed items! A couple weeks ago I spent an afternoon with my niece playing around, and created this alcohol ink background that was just sitting there waiting to be used on a card. When I die cut this Poppy Stamps Graceful Heart Frame die and laid it over it, I knew it was the perfect combination!

The alcohol ink background was my first time using Translucent Yupo paper - and I love the soft look of it! I used the 3 alcohol pearl inks that I own, some blending solution, and some Pinata Rich Gold alcohol ink. Love this combination!

I die cut my front piece from white cardstock, and trimmed the alcohol ink piece to fit behind it, adhering them together, and then adhering to a white cardbase. I stamped a sentiment on the negative heart piece using Friendship Floral Heart stamp set, then adhered it with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

Finished off with a few white Pretty Pink Posh jewels for a bit of extra sparkle!

May 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Good morning! The past couple years I have had so much fun looking back over the past year and sharing a recap of my favorites from each month - and it's time of year again! It's so fun to see how my style has changed or sometimes stayed the same throughout the year and to be reminded of techniques I haven't tried in a while either. It is also nice to have a little time to catch my breath and spend time with family, and spend a bit less time in the craft room - or at least spend time working ahead for a busy new year! :)

In May 2019, I had 46 posts on my blog here!

I have posted links to the original post under each photo in case you missed it or would like more details! I am also going to box up some surprise goodie boxes filled with some gently used (and a few new) crafty goodies and pick a winner or two from any comments left on these 12 monthly recap posts (not each individual link from these posts!) - so if you're interested, make sure and leave a comment! I'm so grateful for each of you that has been part of this journey for me!
