Vellum Heat Embossed Florals - Simon Says Stamp Just for You Instagram Hop

Good morning! Today I'm joining a fun Instagram hop to celebrate the Just for You Release from Simon Says Stamp! Lots of inspiration to be found, and some great prizes as well! Head over to my Instagram HERE to check it out! But as always with an Insta hop, there are only so many details you can get in that tiny caption, so I always like to do a full blog post with ALL the details!

The cards I'm sharing today feature some hot foiling on vellum using the beautiful new Spring Flowers hot foil plate that was part of the release.

I didn't always have wonderful luck hot foiling on vellum, but I picked up some Spellbinders vellum, and as you can see, it worked great for me! I hot foiled several - I only had one that didn't foil well, and I realized I had flipped the paper over. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, or if there is actually a right and wrong side to it? But if you try and don't have success, I would suggest testing the other side, and seeing if that makes a difference.

I not foiled both of these with the Satin Metallics Glimmer foils - this first one uses the gold tone, the second card below uses the more champagne toned one.

Once they were trimmed down, I created a frame using Stitched Rectangles dies - the two largest sizes - from Cream cardstock, then adhered the vellum directly to the back of those frames. I then added foam tape strips around the outer edges of the frames, and adhered that to white cardbases. This makes the vellum feel particularly ethereal and pretty!

I added sentiments to both of them from the Reverse Sunshine and Rainbows sentiment strips, popping them up with foam as well.

I finished them both off with a few Pinkfresh Glitter drop in Gold and Butterscotch to coordinate!

I hope you enjoyed the little peek into how these came together!

Joyful Moment Framed Florals - Pinkfresh Studio YouTube Live

Good morning! I'm stopping by today to share a card I created for Pinkfresh Studio's YouTube Live  a couple weeks ago. I used a floral set that released in January, and paired it up with a new frame die that was part of last month's new release! You can watch the video replay HERE if you want to see more details and watch this card come together.

Today I will be live with Lea on YouTube at 12 noon CDT time - we will be creating a card sneak peeking next week's release! I hope you will stop by HERE and join us!

Here is the replay of the live video if you'd like to watch it here:

I love the pretty layers in the Today is Special set - and I've also been loving Gold Pearl embossing powder that I recently picked up. So I started off by heat embossing my image with that, then moved on to ink blending.

I used soft pretty colors - pastels and happy colors, then die cut the florals out with the coordinating dies.

The Art Deco Frame is new from the February release, and was perfect to frame these florals. I die cut it from matte gold cardstock, and popped it up with foam on my cardbase. I felt like the background needed some texture, so I pulled out the Floral Tile coverplate, then cut a piece of that panel out with the center frame portion of this frame, so it fit perfectly in place.

As hard as it is sometimes, it is totally worth cutting your florals in half sometimes! I love how it entirely changed the look of these flowers! I tucked them just under the edges of the frame, and attached with liquid glue, curling the edges up for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment in Detail black ink, die cut with the coordinating dies, then popped it up with foam adhesive. Finished off with a mix of Ombre Glitter drops in Pixie Dust, Enchanted Forest, and Sparkle and Shine in trios tucked around the sentiment! Aren't they so pretty?!? I can't get enough of them!

Acetate Floral Card - Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit

Hello! I'm popping in to share another card using the BRAND NEW April 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Poppy Perfection! This month's kit is full of beautiful poppies in stamp and pattern paper form! The included stamp set by the same name has several beautiful poppy images and fun sentiments, there is some gorgeous pattern paper, some fun acetate decorative elements, sequin mix...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Today's card looks like tons of layers and work...but was actually pretty easy to create! Read on to see how!

That amazing main floral image? That is one of the beautiful Idea-ology Transparent layers that was in the kit. Isn't it stunning?

I really wanted to let that shine, so I tore the edges of some white cardstock down to a panel sized just slightly larger than that acetate panel. I heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set in Antique Gold on vellum, then attached all three of those layers together with my Tiny Attacher stapler. No need to worry about hiding any adhesive!

I mounted that panel with a thin layer of Big Momma foam tape over some of the pattern paper that I used on the first card I shared a couple days ago.

Finally, some of the flat Gilded sequins included in the kit were the perfect finishing touch to embellish this card!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can see it all HERE:

Easter Heart Cards - Simon Says Stamp Just for You Release

Good morning! I'm dropping by to share my first couple of cards using the NEW Just for You Release from Simon Says Stamp! I have a couple other cards in progress that I'll be sharing soon as well! These first ones feature a sweet stamp set from the new release, paired up with some pattern papers and a previously released heart die!

Both my cards today use the cute Easter Critters stamp set!

This first card features pattern paper from my Pinkfresh 6x6 Flower Market paper pad - I love those florals, and they feel so springy!

I die cut a window in the pattern paper using Nested Rounded Hearts, then used that to position my scene from Easter Critters on my white cardbase, stamping it in black.

I thought about adding color, but I loved the sketchy black and white image with all that color from the pattern paper. I also stamped a sentiment inside the heart.

At this point, I decided these cards needed something to make them stand out from the background, so I used a Copic black multi-liner pen to hand sketch a line around the outline of the heart. I kept it close to the pattern paper, but slightly inside. And I stopped the line where it intercepted the image or sentiments.

I attached the pattern paper using my Big Momma foam tape roll - a current favorite, because it is foam, so it adds dimension, but it is thinner, so it makes my cards a little more postal friendly!

For this second card, I selected a pattern paper from the Spring Vibes paper pad. Isn't that plaid sweet?!?

I created this card the same way, just used different sentiments and image.

I embellished both cards with some coordinating Pinkfresh enamel dots - choosing them to match with their paper pads.

Finally, these needed just a little something more - so I wrapped some Jute string around the entire card front several times, and tied them into a nice loose bow!

How cute are these little images? And isn't it fun adding a pop of color with your pattern paper when you don't have time or feel like coloring? This set also has coordinating dies if you want to layer them up differently with your pattern papers!

Tiny Bird Sweet Song - Spellbinders Stampendous Spring Collection

Hello! I'm stopping by today to share a simple one layer card I created using a sweet new stamp set from the NEW Stampendous Spring collection from Spellbinders. I paired it up with a previously released die to add a bit of interest to my card front, so I was still able to keep it one layer, but make it more fun! And I broke out my Copic markers for this card as well!

I started off by die cutting the dotted oval in the center of the front of my card using the Nestabilities Essential Ovals etched dies. I just used the dotted ovals.

Once I had the dotted oval on my card front, I stamped all my images, including the sentiments. I used a MISTI, and used the large floral image to stamp in the corners, off the edges. I thought it was a fun way to add some interest to the edges.

Then, I pulled out my Copic makers and colored the images. All the colors I used are listed below in the supplies if you are curious about those.

As a final finishing touch, I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins to embellish and add a bit of sparkle!

Paper Pieced Poppies - Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit

Hello! I'm popping in to share my first cards using the BRAND NEW April 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Poppy Perfection!

I have a simple card to share first, featuring a bit of stamping and paper piecing!

I love the beautiful poppy images in the stamp set, and the largest one is particularly lovely, so I decided to focus on that one on my card. And instead of coloring, I thought it would be fun to paper piece it.

I used some of the pattern paper in the kit, choosing one that had a fairly simple pattern, and would work for paper piecing the flowers. It was actually leftover scraps from another card that I will share soon - so a perfect way to use it all up!

I stamped the flowers, fussy cut them out, and attached with a glue pen to the flowers. I loved leaving the leaves and stems solid black - and how it pulls the focus to the flowers so well. I also stamped the sentiment in black in the open space.

I matted that panel with some more pattern paper from the kit, and added another tiny strip of the same pattern paper that I still had left behind the bottom. Once again, not wasting any of that paper, and I love how it draws the entire card together, adding one additional pop of red!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can see it all HERE:

I have a couple more cards to share over the next few days too!
