Christmas Card Wrap Up - and WCMD Giveaway Winner!

Good morning! I had great intentions of getting all of these posted before or on Christmas, but it just didn't happen! So...although it is a bit late, I just combined them all into one post to get them finished before New Years at least! I am also announcing the winner of the WCMD giveaway at the bottom of this post - so make sure and scroll to the bottom! :-)

This first card is actually one that I made with a set I got published in the December issue. The call was to make 4 coordinating cards with one pattern paper pad and one stamp set. Somehow I lost track and made 5, so I picked my favorites and submitted them, and this was the leftover one! Using Neat and Tangled's Simple Christmas and an October Afternoon Paper pad, as well as a bit of fussy cutting, heat embossing, jute twine, and circle punching:

The next card was also a submission card from a while back that was never picked up - for this one I used a Unity Stamp image called Santas, Stockings, and Candy Canes, etc... {Wit and Wisdom}, stamped and heat embossed on vellum, then used some machine stitching to attach it to my pattern paper.

And lastly, a couple using the Unity October 2013 Kit of the Month - Oh Christmas Tree (this one pulls up as the most popular KOTM when you sort by most popular, and I can easily imagine why!)

For this first one, I also used my Bow die from My Craft Spot to cut a felt bow - LOVE how it cuts the felt! Added the image and sentiment heat embossed, some Glitz Designs pattern paper with torn edges, and a couple of jingle bells as well!

And finally, the same image with a different sentiment on green chalkboard paper - chalkboard technique! A little pattern paper from October Afternoon, and some glitter washi with jute twine to finish off!

And...here is the winner! Sorry I'm so late!!!

YAY! Congratulations Kathy! Please send me an email at housesbuiltofcards@gmail.com when you get a chance so I can get that package mailed out to you soon (once I finish unpacking a few more goodies to add!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!!

Paper Smooches Masculine Thank You

Good morning! Dropping by really quickly with a masculine thank you card I made recently - part of the large group of 20 I'm still working on:

I also thought I would link this up with the current Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - Anything Goes:

I tried to go super masculine with the colors on this card - the green pattern paper in the background is by Basic Grey, and I think the front one is from DCWV, but not sure since I got it out of my scrap pile!

I used Paper Smooches Many Thanks stamp set - full of so many fabulous thank you sentiments! I stamped on some kraft cardstock, then trimmed it at an angle to fit my card. I attached that with foam adhesive for just a bit of dimension.

Finished off with some Basic Grey Candy dots - love that deep green color!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

Happy Angled Hello Card

Good Sunday afternoon! It was a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon - and I so enjoyed taking a little time to work on my scrapbooking, then couldn't resist putting one card together:

I decided to play along with the Winnie and Walter Playdate No. 1 that they posted yesterday - such a sweet inspiration photo:

I loved the polka dots on the background, all the fun bright colors, and the fun angles in the inspiration photo.

I stamped the big hello sentiment from my favorite Winnie and Walter Stamp set - the Big, the Bold, and the Happy, and heat embossed it on kraft. Added some sparkle with a glitter pen to make it a bit more fun! Matted it in some solid paper from the reverse of my pattern paper, then set it at an angle on my card using foam adhesive for dimension.

My pattern paper is from an older Webster's Pages paper pad, and kraft paper is from Avery Elle. I also added some sparkle around the edges with the same glitter pen, tucked a few enamel dots, and used a bit of hemp twine to tie around the sentiment panel in a bow.

Bright, happy, and fun! The best kind of card! Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

Stitched Nativity Peace on Earth

Another Christmas card to pop in and share a day late! (smiles) Used some Webster's Pages and DCWV pattern paper, the Market Street Stamps retired set again, and some machine stitching. Super simple!

Have a wonderful day!

Ribbon Carousel Holiday Blog Hop

Hey everyone! We've got such a treat in store for you this weekend! To celebrate all of those beautiful Ribbon Carousels being used around the world (yes, we've shipped Carousels to 27 countries now!) to keep ribbon, twine, washi tapes and spooled items tidy, we'll be hopping around our amazing Crewmates blogs this weekend showing you all of the beautiful and creative ways that our designers use THEIR Ribbon Carousels!

Here is mine - freshly assembled and loaded - and I still have LOTS of room on it! Still can't believe how much it will hold!

I also have some tags to share, using some jute twine right off the carousel!

I used some Webster's Pages pattern paper, a couple of Lifestyle Crafts dies for the doilies, and the main tags were cut with a My Creative Time Die. Added some lace trim, a Paper Smooches Sentiment on a hand trimmed banner, and that jute twine tied in a bow with an October Afternoon button.

Would you like to win your very own Ribbon Carousel? Here is what you need to do: Visit the Designer’s blogs that are participating in each day of the blog hop and comment on their posts as you go. One of the Crewmate’s Holiday blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Crewmate’s Holiday Blog Hop post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more Crewmate Blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning your very own Ribbon Carousel! The Blog Hop will be open until 11:59 PM Eastern Time Monday, November 25th with the winners being announced Tuesday morning on the Ribbon Carousel Blog.

Already have a Ribbon Carousel?  Share a photo of YOUR Ribbon Carousel on our FaceBook page OR email it to info@ribboncarousel.com, and we'll share it for you!  You'll be in special drawing  for your choice of a Ribbon Carousel or 4 packages of spools!

Old Fashioned Christmas Greetings

Good morning! Popping in with the details on a card I'm sharing over at My Craft Spot this morning:

I love how Kimberly designs stamps that can be used for cute and fun cards, as well as vintage and elegant cards! For this card, I used a sentiment from the stamp set "Joy to the World." I also used some Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine and some Natural Jute twine for my bow. My pattern paper is some older Webster's Pages Christmas paper, and I made a window with a Spellbinders Die in some kraft paper, then debossed with my PTI woodgrain Impression Plate. Used some distress ink on the edges, and my pretty button is by Basic Grey

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Growing in Unity Day 2 - Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Good morning! I'm excited to be sharing my second Growing in Unity day with you! Remember to leave a comment for a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty's of your choice! I will draw a winner after the week is over!

I made two of my projects for the week yesterday - and went a little crazy on the glitter! This one actually isn't too bad - but wait until you see what I made for tomorrow! Total glittery overload! I think it has made its way to every corner of the house! Anyway - here is what I made to share with you today:
I love how sweet and whimsical this image is! It was a pure delight to color with my Copic markers!
I stamped it on a circle cut with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities die, then colored it with Copics. Next, I applied some Diamond Glaze in several places, and sprinkled on some Martha Stewart tinsel glitter that I have been dying to try!
The background doily was cut from DCWV glitter paper, also using a Spellbinder's die.
I layered together a couple different papers from Webster's Pages, and the red polka dot paper in the background is from October Afternoon.
Stamped the sentiment and hand trimmed my own tag, then used some crinkle ribbon and jute twine (I don't know if I can make a project without that stuff anymore), as well as a PTI button to attach it and add a pretty bow. The edges of each layer were also inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen (my fav!)
I hope you could see the sparkle at least a little bit on here! Just a reminder - don't forget to leave a comment so you have a chance to be my winner for the week! I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow! Have a great day!!!

Unity FWF - Winter Wishes

Hi there! I uploaded these pictures early this morning so I could play along with Unity Friends with Flair this week! Right now we are at a hotel - we left our little town to find some places to do a bit of Christmas shopping - which meant a 4 hour drive, shop till we dropped tonight, a night in a hotel, then a little more shopping in the morning before heading home. (Home now - so filling in the details a bit!)

This was my first attempt at using Perfect Pearls. I had looked at them many times, and just never thought I would love them enough to spend the money on them. However...it just so happened that I got a set of them in my World Card Making Day prize pack, so of course I had to try them out! Now, I think I love them!
It is so hard in the picture to capture the sparkle, but it really is pretty! So soft and delicate! I used stamp images from the November 2012 KOTM. I started with the winter wishes, then added the other two parts, the reindeer and the sentiment.
I used some pattern paper from Webster's Pages, and some vellum on the bottom that I ran through my Cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder.
Finished off by adding some twine, a little jewel, and lots of Tim Holtz distress ink!

Sorry it took me so long to get this post finished! Hope you are having a great weekend - I have definitely had my fill of shopping for a while! So fun - but nice to be home and unloading!

Kiss Blizzard - Unity FWF

If you're are interested in entering my 7 Christmas Giveaways - click HERE to find the links to all of them!

YAY for Friday and Unity Friends with Flair!!! Since I just HAD to have this snowflake stamp set - I decided to play with it as soon as possible! I'm SOOO in love with it! Here is what I made:
I used some of the new Webster's Pages Christmas papers (that I also had to have, and haven't used till now!)
I stamped the snowflake right onto a doily, then added a bit of bling.
Stamped and matted the sentiment, then attached with some washi tape - something that I am slowly finding myself ADDICTED to!
Added some twine from My Mind's Eye that I got a while back, as well as a bit of jute twine.
Finished off with a October Afternoon button that coordinated just right!
Thanks for visiting today! Hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend - since tomorrow is December 1st already! YIKES!!!
