Stenciled Ombré Snowflake - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Stopping in to share a fun stenciled card from Simon Says Stamp that I recently created - simple, sparkly, and wintry! I love the color combo, the bit of sparkle, and the simple crisp black sentiment!

I started off by using the Stylized Mandala stencil directly on my white cardbase, in ombré tones of Pawsitively Saturated inks - Lucky, Ocean, and Royal. Before removing the stencil, I misted over the stenciled area with some Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a little bottle. This added some great shimmer and fun shine! I added a preprinted Reverse Sentiment popped up in black on the background, rounded off the upper right corner, and then added a few Clear Iridescent Pinkfresh drops for a bit of sparkle! Here are more photos of this card:

Today I'm sharing a card using one of the brand new Embossing Folder and Die Duos - Graceful Butterfly set!

While this set does a whole array of butterflies, I'm just using the largest one for today's card. So there are lots of others I can still put to good use!

Once I had embossed and then die cut the butterfly, I added some ink blending to make it pop. I used a mix of Peony, Taffy, and Cadette ink (which blended over to make purple!). I also used one of the new colors - Charcoal - for the center portion of the butterfly, which is a separate piece. This also helped the embossing detail pop on the background. For extra fun, I added some splatters with some Perfect Pearls mixed with a touch of water.

With all the texture on the butterfly, I wanted to make sure I had some texture on the background, so I pulled out a panel I had previously embossed using Exotic Vines from white cardstock, and trimmed it down to fit on my Smoke gray cardbase, popped up with foam.

I added the butterfly, adhering the center down with liquid glue, and hiding a bit of tiny foam adhesive under the outer wings to help make them pop up, and keep them stable at the same time.

Sentiment is from the All Things Happy Reverse Sentiment Strips, adhered at an angle, trimmed off to fit the panel, and popped up with foam adhesive.

Happy Narwhal - Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful Release Blog Hop

Good morning! Excited today to be joining in on Day 2 of an epic blog hop to celebrate the BRAND NEW Hello Beautiful Release from Simon Says Stamp! Make sure and check out all the inspiration with this new release AND link up your creations as you receive your orders HERE in the Gallery created just for this release! And check out the graphic below to receive a FREE Rose Trio 6x6 Stencil with the coupon code below through February 28, 2021 as well - while supplies last (code expires at 11:59 PM EDT)!!!

I'm sharing a cute little trio of mini cards (perfectly sized for a 4 Bar sized envelope!) featuring the super adorable Narwhal Friends stamp set, and a fun new die set called Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles!

I started off by die cutting one of the medium size scallop rectangles - then using a panel of white cardstock to cut a window one size down to use as a mask for my ink blending. I then ink blended in two different colors of Distress Oxide inks to create a fun panel - adding some Perfect Pearls splatters before removing the mask to reveal the stenciled panels. For this purple one I used Milled Lavender and Wilted Violet.

For each card, I then stamped and very carefully fussy cut out the images - they could also be used with their coordinating dies, but I wanted to have no border around the outline of my images. I also added a tiny bit of color to the cheese using a soft pink Copic marker - otherwise leaving the images black and white. I was going to color them in originally - but I ended up liking them black and white with the pop of color on the ink blending! For this pink version I used Spun Sugar and the new Kitsch Flamingo distress oxides.

Finally, I stamped sentiments over the ink blended panels, as well as some additional elements on some of them, and popped those cute narwhals up on foam adhesive on the backgrounds. This blue version uses a blend of Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide inks.

Finally, I mounted each panel on card bases created from complimentary colors of Simon Says Stamp colored cardstock, and then used some sparkly clear Nuvo drops on the horns, bubbles, and stars - all to give a touch of extra sparkle and shine!

Thinking of You Leaves - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Last week I shared a card using new distress ink color - Kitsch Flamingo - today I'm sharing another card and pairing some different distress inks with the new color, all paired up with some stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp!

The color combo I used for last week's card (you can see that one HERE) was bright and pink and girly - for this card I paired it up with some different colors to see how it played with some deeper red tones. I started off with the Kitsch Flamingo at the top, then moved to Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany - but keeping the ink blending from getting too dark and crazy on those. As before, I also added some splatters with Perfect Pearls, and the deepest shade of distress ink - this time Aged Mahogany.

I added a die cut leaf using Leafy Branch, and die cut it from black cardstock for a bold silhoutte look, then layered it with another sentiment from Just Because Word Mix 2, die cut with the coordinating dies.

Finished off mounting that panel with foam adhesive on a white cardbase, then added a sprinkle of sparkly jewels to finish it off!

A Little Flamingo Note - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I finally had a chance to break out my new distress ink color - Kitsch Flamingo - and some stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp to create a this bright and happy card to share!

I wanted to start off by playing with this new color alongside some other distress ink colors - this was my first color combo, and I have another one that I love as well (I'll share that card sometime next week - stay tuned!). For this one, I used Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, and Wilted Violet - in that order. I also added some splatters with Perfect Pearls and the Wilted Violet - smooshed onto a clear block , picked up with a wet brush, and splashed on the panel.

Sentiment was from the clever Just Because Word Mix 2 - you basically stamp a bunch of sentiments all at once, and then die cut them all in one piece. So perfect! I paired it up with (what else with this new color?!?) a Flamingo die cut. I die cut it twice from white cardstock to layer together for dimension, then once from black cardstock to add an additional shadow layer. I also added some torn strips of vellum along the bottom to add a ground for the flamingo to stand on.

The main panel was matted with black cardstock before adding the vellum, and then mounted with foam adhesive on a white cardbase. The flamingo and sentiment were also mounted with foam adhesive on the background - and a few sparkly pink jewels finish this card off perfectly!

Bohemian Stitched Panel - Simon Says Stamp DIEcember

Good morning! Welcome to the very last day of DIEcember - a month that Simon Says Stamp celebrates all things die cutting! There was also a Fun Release for the occasion - I shared a sneak peek of the beginnings of this card earlier in the month for the release blog hop - and just in time to finish out the month, I finally finished this card yesterday and just had to share!

I used the fun new Detail Bohemian Cover plate for this card. I started off by die cutting it from white cardstock. Then looking at the design and thinking of the name, I grabbed some fun earthy tones of distress ink (including two of the newest colors) to blend over the top to help the details of the pattern pop a little more. I also added some splatters of the same ink colors, perfect pearls, and water. It still didn't seem to have the texture I was looking for, and that's when I broke out the needle and thread...and fully underestimated how much time that would take!

While it did take a while - I absolutely LOVE the finished effect! That texture is so lovely! And while it was slow going, it really was pretty fun to do whenever I had a few spare moments. I just used a double layer of basic white thread for this - embroidery floss may have been easier, but I didn't have any on hand, so I just worked with what I had.

Once it was all done, I trimmed the panel down and mounted with foam on a white cardbase, then I added a simple sentiment from some CZ Design pre-printed reverse sentiments, and a few sparkly white jewels to enhance the design.

STAMPtember Collaboration - Hero Arts AND Ink Blot Shop

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping.

Today we are getting to see the next in the progression of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! Today we have not one but TWO companies - and I have a card for both of them! First up - Hero Arts!

For this card I created a blended background with Distress Oxide inks, and added my images in a silhouette style on that background!

I used Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire (of course!), and Dusty Concord for my blended background, masking off the lower portion of my panel, and added a good bit of splatters with Perfect Pearls for sparkle and texture.

Next, I used my MISTI to stamp the images and sentiments on it, staggering them over that line I masked off. I kind of wish I'd moved the bench down ever so slightly, but had to roll with it as it was! Finished off with a bit of jute twine tied in a knot for texture, and mounted the entire thing on an Ivory cardbase to contrast slightly with the white panel.

Here is a better look at this fun set:

And next up - we have Ink Blot Shop!

This card has the cutest images for creating fun scenes - so I rolled with that!

I stamped everything in Copic friendly ink on white cardstock - using the straight line with the tent and the trees to stamp off the edges at different heights to add some depth to the scene.

I colored it all in with Copics markers in soft colors, and added a ground under the images to give them a stable place to rest. Finished off by mounting it on some coordinating plaid pattern paper from My Favorite Things to finish off!

And here is a closer look at this adorable set:
