Happy New Year - Pinkfresh Studio YouTube Live Card

 Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card I made last week for Pinkfresh Studio's YouTube Live. It was the week before Christmas, so we knew later in the week everyone may be a bit busy, so Lea and I combined our lives into one (and with Christmas, I didn't get a chance to post this card yet - but figured with today being New Year's Eve, it was perfect timing!). We both used the same set, with some different colors and layouts to show it two totally different ways! You can watch the replay HERE if you want to see more details. 

I started off by heat embossing the stamp set in gold on white cardstock, then die cutting to the perfect size with Blanket Stitched Rectangles. I then was able to use the alignment guides on my stencil to perfectly match up with the stamp set!

I added blue, yellow, and aqua layers to my circles - colors that made me think of celebration and fireworks for the new year. I love how they work with the gold embossing as well!

I added a gold frame, using Blanket Stitched Rectangles again, with the plain edge from Folk Edge Rectangles to create a rectangular frame using gold mirror cardstock. This matched perfectly with the sentiment from Perfect Sentiments: Holiday that I hot foiled the leftover foil with using the Solid Foil plate, and then die cutting with the coordinating dies. I added a secondary sentiment from the Seamless Starburst stamp set underneath that main sentiment, stamped in detail black.

I added a bow created with Artistic Bows die - using vellum to cut the outer layers, and more of that gold mirror cardstock to cut the center of the bow. I love using this bow for vellum - it always comes out lovely and soft! I also added several Metallic Gold Pearls for lots of additional sparkle and shine!

Snowy Greetings - Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit

 Good morning! I'm popping in today with one last card using the BRAND NEW January 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Warmest Wishes! This month's kit frosty, wintry, and fun! The included stamp set by the same name is full of adorable images and sweet sentiments, there is some cute pattern paper, some fun sparkly elements, a beautiful stencil and embossing folder, glitter paste...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Here is Washington state, we have ended the year with LOTS of snow - which is rare here! So this card feels particularly fitting, as I will certainly be going out to shovel more snow today (a job that definitely uses muscles that I don't often get much chance to utilize!)

For today's card, I thought it would be fun to try the Faceted Snowflake 3D embossing folder in the kit on vellum...and it is definitely gorgeous! Love the soft ethereal look of the design! I layered it over a panel of white cardstock that I added 3 strips of different colors of cardstock included in the kit.

I popped that panel with foam on a white cardbase, centered a bit towards the top, and stamped my sentiment underneath in the bottom right corner. Finished off with a bit of the pink jewels included in the kit, placing different sizes in the centers of the snowflakes, which was also the perfect way to hid the liquid adhesive I used to adhere the vellum to the panel! Super quick and easy card!

Friends Make You Laugh Out Loud - Pinkfresh Studio YouTube Live Card

Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card I made earlier this week for Pinkfresh Studio's YouTube Live. Since it is the week between New Years and Christmas, Lea and I combined our weekly lives, and did this one together. We both used the same set, with some different colors and layouts to show it two totally different ways! You can watch the replay HERE if you want to see more details. 

We both used Happy Blooms Frame stamp, die, and layering stencils for a cards. Lea went with wintry blues and pinks for her card - and I went with a more traditional spring color palette for my card - this was another set that I actually used for the first time for this live, and I'm so in love with the delicate design of the blooms, and all those lovely details that happen when you add stencil details!

I stamped it first with Licorice dye ink (since it is a dye ink, it works better to stencil over than Detail Black which requires time to dry or heat setting to prevent it smearing). I left the stamp lined up in my MISTI so I could add Detail Black at the end, once I had finished stenciling the layers.

I added all the layers of the stencils, lining up with my stamped image, then added the stamping in Detail Black over the top. I die cut the entire panel using Essentials: Blanket Stitched Rectangles largest die. Next, I die cut the window with the coordinating die - isn't the detail in the center cut portion so pretty?!?

Before attaching everything down, I added my stamped sentiment from Always Uplifting - stamping the larger word in the same pink I used to stencil my flowers, and Detail Black for the secondary sentiment. I then added some interest to the background with Slimline Skinny Plaid layering stencils, and the same green and aqua I used on the florals as well. I tried to leave the area with the stamped sentiment free of the stencil detail, so it popped from the background a bit more.

I added a few coordinating jewels in clusters around the sentiment for a bit of sparkle, and still felt like it needed a bit more sparkle, soooo...

...I smeared some Glossy Accents around the edges of the frame with my finger, and sprinkled on some coarse chunky glitter! Love the frosty glittery effect it gave to the edges!

Lovely, Curious, Happy - Simon Says Stamp To The Moon Release

 Good morning! I'm stopping by today to share another card using the NEW To The Moon Release from Simon Says Stamp! I know there was just a DIEcember release - but it's time to look ahead to the new year already, so here is the jump start on that!

I used a few different new sets from the release for this card!

I started off by creating that background with the new Chevron Background cling rubber stamp. I heat embossed it in white, then ink blended softly over the top with Ocean Breeze and Fresh Pear ink from Pinkfresh Studio for an emboss resist look. I then die cut a rectangle out using Basic Rectangle dies for the perfect size, and the beautiful finished edges that I love. The pattern actually reminds me of a cozy knit sweater!

Next, I added a die cut Peony and Leaves in white for a bit of texture, and then stamped the sweet girl from Be Lovely in black, and fussy cut out (there are matching dies available - I just didn't have them). I mounted her with foam over the florals.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set in white on black cardstock, and then die cut with an older die - Stitched Banners, one of my favorites for sentiments. I added that with foam adhesive on the panel as well.

Finally, I mounted that entire panel on a white cardbase with foam adhesive to finish off!

Painted Peony Mini Slimline Duo - Pinkfresh Studio

Good morning! I'm stopping by to share some cards - and a new video I created for Pinkfresh Studio sharing another way to use those beautiful washi slimline stamp sets that are often too large for your stamp positioner. If you don't want to purchase a larger one, or maybe don't have space to store it, this is a great option! While cutting your stamps apart may sound scary - it really isn't, and is a great way to make your supplies work best for you. And they still work great with the one piece stencils and dies. Once the video concluded, I used some of those lovely pieces to assemble a couple of cute mini slimline cards.

For both cards, I used the Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies - I used one half of it on each card, so one card as the scallops facing in, the other has them facing out. You can use them together, but it is also fun to separate and get two different cards from one pass with the die cut!

I added sentiments to both cards from the stamp set. One of them I stamped directly on the cardbase using Detail Black ink, the other I heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock.

The scallop frames are both popped up with foam adhesive, and the florals I adhered partly with foam adhesive, and partly with liquid glue, curling up the edges for some extra dimension.

Finished off by embellishing with a few coordinating Bubblegum Jewels for an extra pop of color and sparkle!

Merry and Love Floral Foiling - Simon Says Stamp DIEcember

Good morning! I'm stopping by today with another couple of cards featuring a new set from DIEcember Release at Simon Says Stamp! So many fun new things to check out with this release - you can check it all out HERE! I'm sharing some cards featuring some die cutting and hot foiling!

These cards feature some hot foiling with some of the new products, as well as the reverse foiling using the Pinkfresh Solid Hot Foil plate - so many fun extra possibilities this way!

For this first card, I used both the negative and positive flowers from Sketched Rose Wreath hot foil and die set. I also hot foiled a sentiment using the previously released Merry hot foil plate on a panel of white cardstock die cut with a Stitched Rectangle. I arranged the floral clusters in each corner of the panel, switching up the original foil, and reverse foil images on each corner.

I also die cut the new Vine Background from white cardstock, and adhered it to the back of that panel, and then used foam to pop the entire thing up on a Cream cardbase. Isn't white and cream such an elegant color combo?!?

I added a tiny Reverse sentiment for the word "Christmas" and then added a few Matte Gold Metallic Pearls from Pinkfresh to finish this one off.

Next card features the main wreath image from the die set - as well as the reverse hot foiled image!

Once I hot foiled and die cut them both, I adhered them together offset so you could see them both, using foam stripes to adhere them together. I then used foam strips to attach them to the Wonky Stitched Rectangle panel - so yes, two layers of foam adhesive! Before attaching them, I stamped a simple sentiment from Window Box Blooms stamp set.

Attached the panel directly on a kraft cardbase - then added a few more of those pearls to embellish this one as well.

Gotta love a two for one card design, right? Which one is your favorite? I think I'm a bit partial to the layers on the first card - I'm a sucker for die cut greenery!

You Are Amazing - Pinkfresh Studio Facebook Live Card

 Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card I made yesterday for Pinkfresh Studio's Facebook Live. I made a soft and sweet layered card - and did my first hot foiling with Opal foil - which was super hard to catch on video - and is also super hard to photograph...but, if you keep scrolling, there are a couple photos that I was able to capture the shine a little bit! So pretty in real life though! You can watch the replay HERE if you want to see more details. 

I started off by hot foiling the new Lush Vines hot foil plate with Opal hot foil - so pretty! Then...I did the reverse foil with the leftover and the Solid Foil plate. This is the one I ended up using on my card!

I die cut a window using Inverted Stitched Scallop Circles, and die cut a frame using Stitched Rectangles to form the front of my card. This front panel is so pretty and shiny in real life - it feels like specialty glimmer cardstock, with a pretty leafy pattern on it. Would be gorgeous for a wedding card!

Next, I used Citrus Blooms layering stencils and a fairly traditional color combo of inks, and skipped the stamp layer. I die cut with the coordinating one piece die, and took advantage of the soft no line coloring look. Then it was easy to arrange all those blooms around the circle.

This photo is probably the best look at the shimmer on that background - isn't it pretty?

I used a cream cardbase - there is just something about combining white and cream together that I absolutely love - the perfect bit of soft contrast!

Finally, I added a sentiment from the new Foiled Sentiments pack - such a great bundle of amazing silver and gold foiled sentiments, designed to be perfect for cards! A few Matte Silver Metallic Pearls are the perfect finishing touch!
