Good evening! I am SUPER excited to be hopping along tonight with
Winnie and Walter to celebrate the release of their new larger sized stamps! You should have arrived here from
Jenny Martin - if you just happened along, make sure and head back over to the
Winnie and Walter blog to start at the beginning - there are LOTS of giveaway opportunities!
I can't even begin to tell you how CUTE these new stamps are! SOOO many incredible options with these! The first stamp set I played with is called "This Wonderful House" - kind of perfect for me with my blog name. ;-)
I started off by using it with one of my favorite techniques - watercolors!
For this card, I simply stamped the house image, colored it in with watercolors, then stamped and fussy cut out the banner with that fun sentiment, which I adhered with foam adhesive for just a tiny bit of dimension. One trick I have found - when adhering a watercolor panel to a card, I had a lot of trouble with the adhesive not sticking in place until I found that a nice strong adhesive (I use Score Tape) was the perfect solution!
Next, I decided to let one of the sentiments shine on my next card:
For this one I had an oval panel that I cut with a Lil' Inker's Stitched Oval die, and I stamped the sentiment in the center. I thought that little kitty image was the perfect finishing touch on the sentiment - I can just picture a sweet kitty sitting in the window waiting for it's family to come home! Added the speech bubble paper clip from my stash, some lovely pattern paper from Crate Paper, and a bit of Lawn Fawn Coral twine to finish it off.
Next up is a fabulous set called "A Tree for All Seasons" - LOVE this set so much!
I started off by making a shaker card. I cut an oval window with the same Lil' Inker's die, used distress ink to add some "dirt", stamped my tree, then glued a few sequins in place. I put more sequins inside my shaker card, and also a good sprinkling of chunky gold glass glitter. Embossed my sentiment in gold on a strip of vellum to finish it off - LOVE the beautiful font for the sentiments in this set! So versatile!!!
This set at first glance seemed pretty distinctly fall themed to me - so I decided to stretch it and make a card with more of a spring feel to it:
I used a soft kraft color to stamp the tree trunk, then layered over several times with some soft pink ink to add "blossoms" instead of leaves. Stamped the sentiment over the top (again - LOVE the font!), added some random dots of Stickles, then added some distress ink on the edges to soften the stark white color a little. Finished off with some pattern paper from my stash, a tiny Tim Holtz paper clip and a bit of jute and baker's twine tied in a bow, and a few black sequins.
Thanks for stopping by tonight! Your next stop along the way is
Lyndal Higgins - the up and coming Winnie and Walter Leading Lady for September! Make sure and leave a comment before you go for a chance to win a set of your choice from the new release! Have a great weekend!!!
