Altenew Floral Bloom Card - Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Collaboration

Hello again! Today's card features the next set in the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Exclusive Collaborations - today is all about Altenew! And it's only appropriate that it would be a layering floral stamp set, one of the things Altenew is known for! This beautiful set was so much fun to stamp and layer up!

I started off by die cutting the panels for the florals from Graceful Blooms - before even stamping. One of the easiest ways I've found to stamp layering images is by using the negative space to line up each stamp layer. It's even easier if you use a dark surface behind like black cardstock or a black stamp and stencil mat. I used Marine, Cadette, and Royal for the blue bloom; Carnation, Peony, and Rose for the pink one; then Cabbage, Artichoke, and Kale for the greenery and details on the flowers. I die cut a window in a panel of white cardstock using one of the Modern Teardrops dies, then added some soft shading on the cardbase underneath with Marine and Carnation in opposite corners from where I was arranging the florals. I love how it looks like it's glowing from behind them! Finished off by stamping and die cutting sentiments to add, and sprinkling on a few Clear Dazzling gems. Here is a closer look:

Birthday Window Flowers - Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments Release

Hello! I'm super excited to be stopping by with my first card with the BRAND NEW Beautiful Moments Release from Simon Says Stamp! I used a sweet little set that is near and dear to my heart, because my daughter, Katie, designed it! I so love how it turned out, and had fun creating this card with it!

The set is called Budding Blossoms, and is part of the Rainbow Splash collection. It is a tiny set, but has so many fun possibilities! I started off by stamping lots of images from the set on watercolor paper, then coloring everything in with Altenew watercolors in a bright, happy, spring color palette. I die cut all the images out once they had fully dried. Next, I grabbed an older die - Window - and cut several from black cardstock. I blended a couple bits of Butter ink on my card base, then layered over the top of those with Tin Tile stencil and a bit of Zest ink for some tone on tone texture. I layered the windows over that with liquid glue, then arranged all my die cut and watercolored images with foam adhesive. I added sentiments in fun angles, stamping with my MISTI for perfect placement, then added a few little bees and ladybugs, and finished off with a few coordinating Butter Dazzling Gems for sparkle! I had some leftover bits and pieces, so I decorated a little coordinating envelope to use them all up! Here are lots more photos of this finished card and envelope set:

Grateful Florals - Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Altenew exclusive

 Good morning! I'm back to share a card using the next of the special STAMPtember collaborations throughout the month! Each collaboration is with one of your favorite companies, is limited edition, and only available while supplies last. When it's gone, it's gone! Today's special release is from Altenew:

This lovely floral image was just calling out to be watercolored, so I pulled out my Altenew watercolors, stamped up my images, and had fun coloring! I originally stamped them off the edge of a panel of watercolor paper, thinking I would keep the card one layer. In the end, I die cut each partial piece of the flower, and then popped them up on my finished card. I actually really love how that worked! I used some Spellbinders colored cardstock, and SSS A2 Scalloped Rectangles to create a fun scallop layer - so lacy and pretty! I popped my florals up with foam adhesive, added my stamped and die cut sentiments, and embellished with a few Trinity Stamps Clear Twinkle Rhinestones for some extra sparkle! Altenew Stampwheel and Pinkfresh Studio Collaboration Instagram Hop

 Good morning! I'm stopping by today to share full details of my card that is part of a fun collaboration Instagram Hop with Altenew and Pinkfresh Studio, featuring the Stampwheel from Altenew paired up with product from Pinkfresh Studio! As always in an Instagram post, it is hard to get all the details included, so I always like to assemble it in a coordinating blog post for reference. For my card, I started off by heat embossing the Citrus Bloom image in Gold Pearl embossing powder. I then ink blended with Pinkfresh inks in a fun soft color palette (all colors listed below in the supply list) and die cut with the coordinating die. I used Dotted Chevrons coverplate die to add texture to the background, then added a Scallop Rectangle cut from pink cardstock, and then a Braided Circle cut from white cardstock. I arranged the floral images around adhering with liquid glue, and tucking some above and below the circle frame. Sentiment is from Wonderful Sentiments, stamped in Detail Black, and mounted with foam adhesive. A few Clear Drops: Champagne finish this card off! Here are more photos of this card:

To Someone Who Makes Others So Happy - Instagram Hop

 Good morning! Today I'm so happy to be participating on a special Instagram hop to celebrate (or help!) two very talented crafters make the last final push to 10K followers (on Instagram, this gives the fun swipe up feature in stories). I thought I would also post my card here with more details as well as links to what I used - just makes it easier if anyone is wanting more info!

I used the beautiful Frilled Petals stamp set from Altenew - for some reason it was a stamp set I had in my stash and hadn't ever used! So this was a perfect opportunity. I stamped it with layers of Pinkfresh Studio inks - layered stamping is so fun and relaxing for me!

I built my sentiment to honor the two friends (you can find them HERE and HERE) - they are both so talented and make so many people happy on Instagram, so it seemed fitting!

I trimmed the panel down, added a couple of score lines at the top and bottom for texture, and a few sparkly clear jewels from Pretty Pink Posh, then added a tiny twine bow before mounting the entire panel with foam on a card base created with Altenew's Spicy Yogurt cardstock.

STAMPtember Collaboration - Altenew

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping. 

Today we are getting to see the next in the progression of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! Today we have...Altenew!

Here is the card I created using this lovely set:

I stamped the floral, corner frame, and sentiments on a panel of white cardstock, and colored them in with Copic markers and some simple coloring - so easy to fill this image in!

I used my distress tool to rough up the edge of the panel, added some machine stitching, and layered together over some coordinating cardstock - then finished off with a few enamel dots for some dimension and texture!

May 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Good morning! The past couple years I have had so much fun looking back over the past year and sharing a recap of my favorites from each month - and it's time of year again! It's so fun to see how my style has changed or sometimes stayed the same throughout the year and to be reminded of techniques I haven't tried in a while either. It is also nice to have a little time to catch my breath and spend time with family, and spend a bit less time in the craft room - or at least spend time working ahead for a busy new year! :)
