Ray of Light - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I've got a bold floral card using some lovely supplies from Simon Says Stamp - and a surprising way that I ended up using some leftover supplies for this card! They were accidentally a perfect match - love when that happens! 

This card actually started off with the Dot Petal Pattern stencil - it had been sitting in my stash since it's release, and I hadn't had a chance to put it to use. I pulled out some Gina K Kelly Green cardstock, and used Rainbow Splash Grass and Emerald inks to do a tone on tone effect, blending Grass over the entire panel, and Emerald around just the outer corners. I added some white splatter to two corners for some extra texture and interest. I found that glittery arch in my stash that was cut from Pinkfresh Glacier glitter paper using the Stitched Arches die previously. It was a larger size than I wanted for this card to avoid covering up too much of the stenciling, so I grabbed a smaller one and cut it down slightly (saving the frame I made to use on another card, of course!). As I dug through my pile of leftovers, I found those sunflowers that I had stamped out from the Sunflower Meadow set - and look how PERFECTLY those colors matched! It's like they were made to go together! They had been stamped with Butter, Zest, Honey, Allspice, and Lucky inks. I layered those on the arch with varying amounts of foam adhesive squares for plenty of fun dimension. Finished off with a sentiment from EZ Strips Glow On reverse sentiment strips, hand trimmed into a thin banner shape. Here are more photos of the finished card:

Dreamy Butterfly Background - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I have a soft, dreamy butterfly card to share with you today. I recently got the stencil set that coordinates with a newly released embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp - and I'm in LOVE with it! I mean, seriously, how pretty is that background?!? And can you ever have too many butterflies? I don't think so!

I actually already had a white cardstock panel embossed with the Butterfly Escapade embossing folder in my stash, so that saved me some time when I started. I used the coordinating stencils and Ballerina, Periwinkle, and Jade inks to add color with the stencils. I then blended Buttercream ink around the edges and into the center to soften it a bit, and make it less bright white and stark contrast with the color on the raised portions. I love the soft effect! I added a frame with a window cut out of it with Nested Stitched Rectangles, then wrapped some coordinating Prima Yarn around and tied in a bow. The sentiment is from Bereavement Thank Yous, heat embossed with clear ink after stamping with Nocturne ink. I popped that up with foam over the twine, and then embellished with a few Peachy Dazzling Gems to finish. Here are more photos of the finished project:

Love You To Pieces Birthday - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I've got another fun and colorful birthday card to share today, using a couple different sets from Simon Says Stamp - you might recognize the colors and the stamp set from the card I shared a couple days ago HERE! This was the stenciled background that I created before finishing the other card (I had originally planned to use them together, but didn't like them combined). I ended up using the leftover ink on my brushes to create the background for that other card. But since I had this lovely background finished, I had to complete a card with it, right?

I used the Big Basket Weave stencil to create the background, and while its name indicates it has a different purpose, I thought it was a perfect fit with the idea of building blocks! I blended several Rainbow Splash inks on the stenciled background - Crimson, Pumpkin, Dandelion, Grass, and Sea. Sentiment is Birthday Wishes, cut from black and white cardstock and layered together, then popped up with foam on the background. I stamped a cute image from Let's Connect, leaving it uncolored, and popped that up with foam adhesive over the main sentiment, then added a secondary sentiment from that set as well to finish off! Fluttering Hey Friend - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! There is a new release coming tomorrow from Simon Says Stamp - but I'm sneaking in one last card for the month with some previous releases! I love a crisp outline image, and a bit of soft stenciling is super fun as well!

I started off by doing some soft ink blending in the bottom right corner using the Tin Tile stencil and a bit of Ballerina ink. Next, I stamped the large main image from Make My Heart Flutter so that it went a bit off the edges of the cardstock and overlapped on the area where the stenciling faded out. I stamped a dainty sentiment from the same stamp set, and rounded a corner of that panel off, then mounted with Big Momma foam adhesive on a cardbase created with coordinating Spellbinders Blush cardstock that also had the same corner rounded off. I stamped the extra two little butterflies in black and die cut, adhering with liquid glue and leaving the wings floating free for dimension, then finished off with a few coordinating Glitter Enamel drops! All the Perks Birthday Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I have a fun clean and graphic card to share with some fun stenciled ink blending, simple stamped and heat embossed images, and a modern and clean layout featuring a couple of fun sets from Simon Says Stamp!

I hadn't had as much chance to use the cute Best-teas set as I wanted - especially the coordinating dies since I didn't get them until later. And while coloring images is fun, there is something I just love about a crisp black stamped image, and adding a pop of ink blended color to the background is a great way to achieve a fun layout! I used the Heart Masks stencil set along with Cheeky, Blush, and Mandarin inks to blend a layered heart background on a white cardbase, then added a tiny bit of Black Splatter over the top. While that dried, I stamped several images an a sentiment from the Best-teas stamp set in Nocturne ink, then heat embossed with clear powder for some fun shine. I die cut those out, and popped them all up with foam on my background. Finished off with a few Mandarin Dazzling Gems for sparkle and shine! Here is a closer look at this card:

Artistic Embossed Lilac Card - Simon Says Stamp

 Good morning! Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers - they may have a rather short season, but they have always felt like spring to me. Growing up, we had several bushes in varying colors. I loved the old fashioned varieties the best - I'm convinced they had a sweeter fragrance, but I don't know that I could explain it! I've had this fun embossing folder and die combination from Simon Says Stamp in my stash for a while now, and pulled it out a couple days ago, deciding it was high time I put it to use. I absolutely LOVE it - and can't believe I waited so long to use it!

I used the Pristine Lilac embossing folder and die combo, first cutting the image out of watercolor paper, then taping it in place and running it through the embossing folder. I then ink blended over it with Amethyst, Iris, Cabbage, and Kale inks before misting lightly with water. I let that dry, then carefully brushed a bit more of the deeper ink colors over the top to bring out the details again and add more depth to the image. I also added some gold splatters with my Starry Colors palette, as well as some white splatters. While that dried, I did a bit of subtle tone on tone inking on my cardbase, using Delicate Lattice stencil and the two lighter shades of ink. I first ink blended a base, then placed the stencil over top and stenciled again with the same color. I also die cut a window from a panel of white cardstock using Nested Stitched Ovals dies, and adhered that with foam adhesive over the top. I carefully tucked the finished flower into the frame, added a sentiment from Delicate Blossoms, a white twine bow, and a few Clear Dazzling Gems to finish! Glam Birthday Duo - Simon Says Stamp

 Good morning! I often make multiples of cards, but I generally vary something between the two. Today is the exception on these birthday cards using one stenciled panel, and various supplies from Simon Says Stamp. These cards were basically an excuse to use one new product that I had been itching to play with!

I started off by using a stencil I hadn't had a chance to use either - Mosaic Petals. I inked up the layers with Zest, Honey, Grapefruit, and Mandarin inks, then used the new Gold Sparkle Paste from SSS - and the photos don't do it justice! It is stunning! When I saw it, I fell in love, and hadn't had a chance to use it yet. It will definitely be a favorite! Anyway, once that panel fully dried, I cut it in half diagonally, then trimmed it to fit the front of an A2 card. I added a border of Honey Gold cardstock to make it pop off the background, and adhered it with sturdy adhesive, and a single foam strip along the diagonal edge to let just that part pop up for dimension. I added a sentiment from Big Scripty Greetings, a bow from Pretty Bows 2 cut from more Honey Gold cardstock, and then embellished with a sprinkle of Dazzling Gems in Gold to finish off!
