You light up my life

Good morning once more! Last post for the day - at least I think so! Another challenge card:

First up was the current Little Tangles challenge - Washi it Up:

I also used the color inspiration - and the 10 minute timer for the 10 Minute Craft Dash:

Funny thing was - I thought I had lots of time for this card! I had it all figured out in my head - so I wasn't really rushing that much. All of a sudden my time was almost up! Don't know how that happened - but I put the speed on and was able to finish with 20 seconds to spare...WHEW!

Pretty simple card - MFT cardstock for the cardbase, Lil' Inker's Stitched Square Dies, MFT inks, a little Copics and Stickles on the light bulb, some washi, some sequins, and a bit of bling.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful rest of your day!!!

Thinking, thinking, thinking...

Good morning! Popping in to share another quick challenge card! Sometimes getting back from vacation makes it hard to get my Mojo going - and while I have been working on lots of fun Design Team stuff for next weeks new release at My Craft Spot, sometimes a good challenge or two is the perfect way to get myself feeling creative again! Here is what I put together this time:

I made this for the Avery Elle June Challenge using this sketch:

And used these beautiful colors from this weeks color story at the Play Date Cafe:

I used the Avery Elle set called Petals and Stems - so beautiful and fun for layering! I inked them up with Versamagic inks, then layered them all together - stamping one separately to fussy cut out and layer on top of my sentiment square.

The sentiment square was cut with my Lil' Inker's stitched rectangles, and I stamped the first part of the sentiment in each of my colored inks before attaching it with foam adhesive and adding the flower at the bottom.

Added some clear sequins, a tiny bit of Stickles to the center of the flowers, and layered strips of coordinating pattern paper from an MME 6x6 paper pad on the side.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Vintage Gold Jars

Good morning! Okay, so I just got my first glitter Zing embossing powders, and couldn't wait to try them out. I wasn't actually planning on making a card - just grabbed my newest June Unity KOTM that had arrived the other day, and this cute image that LOVED, and stamped and embossed it on some scratch paper. Oh.my.goodness! I am so in love with it! So...it turned into a card for a couple challenges, because I couldn't stop looking at it and figured I might as well make something with it, right?

First, I used the color combo from the Unity Be Inspired Challenge - I substituted gold for the yellow, and then used softer versions of the same colors, but they are all there:

And then I have had this picture in my head all week from the current Runway Inspired Challenge, so I kind of went with that as well:

I took my stamped and embossed image, and colored it by dabbing some Mister Huey's mists on my nonstick mat and dipping a water brush in them to paint the color on. Love the soft effect that it gives! And it dries super fast too!

Added my sentiment from the Unity Set called Party All Day using PTI ink.

Matted it with some pretty MME paper...

...then added some scallop velvet trim from an October Afternoon wrap pack, and some natural jute twine. Finished off by attaching it to a cardbase made with Avery Elle Sea Glass cardstock, one of my current faves!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Instagram Birthday - Unity FWF

Good morning! Happy Friday and Unity Friends with Flair! I have a fun Instagram inspired card today:
I made this card a while back too, right after I got a prize package in the mail from Crate Paper that included some Instagram overlays. LOVE them so much!
I cut the girl out using my Silhouette Cameo and a file from the cut store, and layered it behind the overlay. Stamped a Unity Sentiment from Party All Day.
Layered it all on some Crate Paper DIY Shop papers, and added a twist of the coordinating Crate Paper twine that came in the package.
Thanks again for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Paper Smooches Guest Designer - Week 3

Good morning! Can't believe that this month is half over, but here I am again sharing for week 3 a couple more cards for my month as guest designer over at Paper Smooches:

I have to say that the new stamp set, Crystal Clear is my FAVORITE! And the sentiment from Giddy Bugs was a perfect fit!

For this card, I stamped the jar and heat embossed in clear on white Watercolor paper. I then used a waterbrush and painted on some Mister Huey's mist to color it in. I overlapped the edges of the jar, so you could see where it started and ending. After letting that dry, I stamped the lightning bugs and sentiment, then brushed some more Mister Huey's over the sentiment and let it dry.

I added some Stickles around the sentiment and the jar, as well as on the wings of the little bugs. Then I stuck an enamel dot on each bug for the "glow" part!

Finished off with a strip of MME pattern paper, some sparkly May Arts ribbon that was a perfect match, and mounted the entire thing with foam adhesive on an Every Elle kraft cardbase.

Next up, I thought it would be fun to make an 8th birthday card using the cute octopus from Briny Blue

I also used Digits stamp set, and Ovals 1 Dies for the sentiment.

I stamped my scene using some different colors of Versamagic ink, then trimmed it down, rounded the corners, and distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool. I hand trimmed the banner, stamped the sentiment in two parts, then stamped the "8th" and cut it with my oval dies.

Layered some MME patterned paper on a Bazzil cardbase, added some lace from October Afternoon and a few sequins, and attached my sentiment banner with foam adhesive.

Too bad my youngest is going to be 9 in September! Might have to save this one for a friend or niece!

Anyway - hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by - I'll see you next week for my final week!

Paper Smooches Cool Shades Challenge: Nature

Hello! It's time for a new challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge:

This week it is a Cool Shades Challenge:

Here is the color palette - Nature:

I used Crystal Clear Stamp set, and my sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler. I stamped the jar, leaves, and flowers using MFT inks on Avery Elle Sea Glass cardstock (LOVE the color of this stuff!). I stamped the straw from Crystal Clear along the bottom as a border.

Stamped the sentiment in the top left corner, and tucked a few doilies behind before mounting on some Avery Elle kraft cardstock. Finished off with a couple wraps of jute twine tied in a bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Please stop by and see what the rest of the SPARKS team put together:

Washi Banner Card

Good morning! I am getting ready to make the long drive home in a couple of days from visiting family, so since I have been gone and auto-posting so much stuff, I realized that I had this one hiding out that I had never posted! Obviously it was quite a while ago, because it was before I changed the way I take my pictures. I think it was actually a publication reject! I don't have the card anymore, so I can't retake the photo - but I thought this was a good opportunity to share!
Pretty simple card, really! I started off by spraying some white opaque Mister Huey's mist on a kraft cardbase.
After that dried, I wrapped a doily around, and stamped a Paper Smooches sentiment.
Next, I pulled out my washi tape and jute twine, and made a fun banner.
Attached my banner, and added a random sprinkling of bling from my stash.
There you go! Finished off an old one for this! Hope you are having a great weekend!
