The Amount of Happy

Hello! Also wanted to pop in today and play along with Unity Friends with Flair. I fell in LOVE with this image as soon as I saw the July Kit of the Month - and since it was waiting for me in our pile of mail when we arrived home, I couldn't wait to ink it up. Of course, it was the perfect image for a little watercoloring!

I also used the color inspiration for the current Unity {be inspired} Challenge:

Also linking this up with the Simon Says Monday Challenge - About a Face (one of the things I love about this image is that the face is a blank canvas...you can use your imagination to add whoever's face fits there!):

Added a strip of MME pattern paper, some Stardust Stickles on the dress, shoes, and hat ribbon, rounded a corner, and mounted on a kraft card base - super simple, but this image is so lovely it doesn't need anything else!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Masculine Sail Boat Thank You

Good morning! Slowly working on getting back to crafting after vacation - why is that always so hard? Maybe it was the fact that not only was the entire house a mess, so was my craft desk! Anyway - I love a good challenge for inspiration, always kind of kick starts my creativity - and I saw the challenge over at Mountain Plains Crafters and thought I would play along. The theme is Nautical/Beach. I just love this cute sailboat image and have already used it several times. It is from the Avocado Arts June stamp set Life's a Beach. I am still loving it so much!

For this card, I wanted to make a masculine thank you card. I stamped the image and added a sentiment from Avocado Art's Wishes and Kind Thoughts stamp set. Added some distress ink to the edges, then used my Tim Holtz distress tool to wear it down even more. Also added a few splotches of Heidi Swapp Color Shine. Mounted it on some woodgrain paper from My Mind's Eye, added some jute twine, and a strip of ribbon from my stash. It felt like it needed something more, so I made a little banner from some washi tape, added a tiny Tim Holtz paperclip, and a tiny bit of jute twine tied in a bow.

I also noticed there are only a couple of entries - and the challenge ends today! In case you are looking for something to do with your Friday afternoon!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

Thanks a Bunch!

Good morning! Wanted to share a card for a couple of challenge using one of my current favorite floral stamp set from Altenew - Painted Flowers:

First up, linking this up with the current Curtain Call Anything Goes Challenge:

And Simon Says Spots and Dots Challenge (the splats of ink make perfect dots!):

This time I stamped the flower outlines first, and heat embossed with Gold Zing embossing powder. Then I stamped in the layers of the flowers and leaves using Memento inks. Finished off by heat embossing my sentiment from Label Love, trimming and adhering with foam adhesive, then adding a splash of Heidi Swapp Color Shine and a pen doodle outline before mounting on some American Crafts pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Eyelet Outlet July Cards

Good morning! Just got back from vacation last night - we were gone for nearly 3 weeks, the longest we have ever been gone on a trip I think! My husband got to go to Norway with some of his family, and I spent the time in Washington with my family, and the rest of his family that was still there. Got to see my big brother and his family who were there visiting from Hawaii, was there for the birth of my newest niece, saw the beginning of the new house my parents are building, and had a great time hanging out with everybody - all in all a very fun, relaxing, and wonderful trip. It is so nice to be home though I must say! We also brought one of our nieces home with us to visit for a couple of weeks. I have a feeling it will take a while to get all unpacked, settled in, and caught up though!

Anyway...back to crafting! I was up on the Eyelet Outlet blog yesterday sharing a couple of cards using some fun brads, bling, and enamel dots from from Eyelet Outlet. Thought I would also share them here!

Enjoy the Journey with Heather H

Good morning! I'm up on the Avocado Arts blog this morning with a few cards using the new stamp set for July - I just love the fun mix of images and sentiments on this set!!!

First up - I decided to use the fun lighthouse image:

I stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the lighthouse. Used a Lil' Inker's die to make a window on my blue pattern paper, then added the sun ray pattern paper behind it. Added a torn edge of kraft paper on the bottom with my sentiment, heat embossed in silver, and some torn glitter washi tape on the bottom of that. I added some vellum rays that I trimmed on my paper cutter, then adhered the lighthouse with foam adhesive. Finished off by adding decorative corners to the card.

Next up - how can you not LOVE this adorable VW bug?!?!? I thought it was just the cutest!

I stamped it on some white cardstock, added the sentiment underneath with MFT ink, and used some Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges. Added some jute twine, then mounted with foam adhesive on some pattern paper from MME with a touch of washi tucked underneath.

As a final finishing touch, I covered the bug with some Wink of Stella - super hard to see in the pictures - but so fun and sparkly in real life!

Finally, I used one of the cute new mini sets to make another card - such a cute cupcake, don't you think?

Yep - I went with watercolor for this one!

I simply stamped it, watercolored it in, then stamped my sentiment underneath. Added a sketchy border around the edges, then covered the bottom of the cupcake and the sprinkles with Glossy Accents before mounting it on a dark gray card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS Challenge - Watercolor Birthday

Good morning! So excited for a brand new challenge at My Craft Spot this morning! The new challenge is Birthday's - and I decided to use some more of my favorite technique lately - watercolors:

I started off by using some watercolor paper and painting a  background. Next, I die cut the word "happy" from Big Words Metal Dies and adhered that with some glue. I only applied the glue to the center, so once it dried, I could curl up the edges a little for some fun dimension! Next, I stamped the rest of the sentiment using the new Build a Birthday stamp set, added some Tickled Pink Sequins, and some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you will join us for our new challenge this week! Have a great day!!!

So Very Blessed

Good morning! Just thought I would stop in this morning to share a quick card:

I also wanted to link up with the new Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes (include American Crafts if you want to):

I am also linking up with the Simon Says Monday Challenge - I ought to use that more (finally dug into my scrap box and used some of those!):

Finally, linking this up with Word Art Wednesday's Anything Goes.

I used some American Crafts pattern paper for my background, then some scrap paper from Crate Paper that I cut with Avery Elle's Pinked Elle-ments dies. Then I used some vellum to cut Paper Smooches Deco Bag Die, and heat embossed my sentiment from Neat and Tangled's So Very Blessed stamp using Ranger Platinum embossing powder. I added a twist of hemp cord inside the bag, affixed a pre-made bow from Recollections that I had in my stash, and finished off with some sequins and enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!
