Baby shower card

I am getting ready to go to a baby shower in just a few minutes, but wanted to share the card I made for it with you first! They are having a little girl, and the invitations were brown and pink, so I decided to use those colors for the card. I am also entering this in the Cooking with Cricut April Showers Challenge, and the Fantabulous Cricut April Showers Challenge to use an umbrella or hat.

This is a large 6 x 6 card, since I will be hand delivering it and don't have to worry about postage! I cut the background shape from Twinkle Toes, and the umbrella from Sweethearts cartridge. The sentiment is from a set I got at Michael's on clearance a while back. Inked the edges of everything, and added lots of glitter, and some cute ribbon. Thanks for looking!

Sweet as a bowl of cherries!

Good morning! Can't believe how this week has flown by - and that it is already Friday!

This card was just a fun one I worked on last night to unwind after a busy day. I used a Unity Stamp Itty Bitty set, colored the bowl and cherries in with my Prismacolor pencils, and added some eyelets in the corners to tie some Baker's Twine bows through. Pop-dotted that layer, and added a little doodling around the edges.

You are my sunshine!

Ahh...we got a tiny bit of sunshine yesterday, and it was SOOO nice!!! I went out to walk down the driveway and get the mail...and just couldn't go back inside too quickly - so I weeded a bunch in my flowerbeds. My seven year old daughter helped me, and my six year old daughter grabbed all the worms to hold in her hand!!! Honestly...I have NOOO idea where she gets that from!!! And she also held a spider in her hands - and I am TERRIFIED of spiders!!! My oldest is probably even worse than me, so she kept warning her sister to stay away from her! Kind of funny, but good times! So this card seems kind of fitting!

The sunshine and sentiment are a set from Peachy Keen that I colored in with my Prismacolor pencils. I put the sunshine on an Action Wobble - the last two pictures show that a little bit! The background frame is cut from a Child's Year, and all the edges of the card were inked. Finished off with some Baker's Twine, a button, and a little ribbon. Thanks for looking - hope you have a sunny day!

One of my FAVORITE Unity stamps!

Seriously...I think this is one of my all time favorite Unity Stamp - it just makes me happy!

The main stamped image is from Unity Stamps February KOTM. I stamped the balloons an extra time on patterned paper and cut them out individually (a little more tedious of a task than I anticipated - but worth it for the results I think!) The sentiment is from Pink by Design. Finished off with a bow and some faux stitching and doodling around the edges.

Hope your day is sweet!

This card is for a sketch challenge over at My Creative Time's Throwback Thursdays Challenge, which needed to be Cricutless. Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it! For this card I pulled out my March KOTM and used it for both the image and the sentiment. Used a Fiskars punch for the border, and for the corner punches. Inked everything, added the ribbon bow, and topped the ice cream and corner punches with Glossy Accents. The last picture shows the Glossy Accents on the ice cream a little better.

Thanks for looking - and I hope YOUR day is sweet!!!

Birthdays are like purses...

I am SOOO happy with how this card turned out!!! This is for my best friends birthday today. (DON"T LOOK AT THIS HANNAH!!! I'M WARNING YOU!!!) There is kind of a funny story behind it though - she LOVES purses, and kind of collects them. I, on the other hand, am really picky and boring with my purses! She is always trying to convince me to buy cute purses, and I have every excuse in the book for why I need to stick with the plain, black, boring, (dare I say ugly?) purse that I already have. I just don't care enough about it to spend the money on a new one, and I care more about how functional it is. Anyway, when I saw this quote somewhere recently, I knew I just HAD to make a card for her with it!

The purse stamp is from one of the Unity Grab bags I got a while back, and the sentiment is computer generated and curled a bit as I placed it on the card. I cut the card shape from A Child's Year by welding together a tag shape on my Gypsy. Inked the edges of everything, added some doodling, and finished with a bit of yarn tied in a bow.

Happy Easter!

Since my hubby was gone this weekend at a Men's Advance with the guys from our church, I took the opportunity to catch up a bit on my scrapbooking...so I put myself on a cardmaking ban until I hit my goal! I do my scrapbooking by year, so my goal was to finish the last of 2009...about 25 pages!!! And yesterday afternoon - I finished the last one! So...I rewarded myself by making a quick card last night!

I am entering this in the Inspired Heart Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrews - to make a project about what inspired you right at this moment. The sermon at church yesterday morning was talking a lot about the Resurrection, and that is what Easter is to me! And very little makes me think of new life as much as butterflies!

For this card, I used the Unity Stamp January Kit of the month for the stamped flower border with black Stickles in the centers, and the sentiment came from a stamp in my stash...don't remember what brand it was, but I know I purchased it from Michael's. Added some butterflies that I cut from Straight from the Nest, on the shift key of the phrase feature - covered them with Glossy Accents and glitter. Inked the edges of everything, and finished with some luscious velvet ribbon and stick on red pearls.
