Birthday Party Invites with a Friend!

Okay - let me just start with a big disclaimer! I am posting these, but I only helped out a friend - she did the majority of the work, but doesn't have a blog or anything, so she said I could share them here! Just wanted to make it very clear that I helped with the initial design, but she did the final decorating on them - and didn't they come out amazing!?!?!?!? She is having a Mardi Gras style masquerade party for her 30th birthday, and these are the invitations - we made 100 of them!
We used a cut off of Life's a Party, and did a little trimming on each one with scissors to make them look like masks instead of glassees. Used the Cuttlebug to emboss both the card and the bottom of the glasses, then added a sentiment from Pink by Design. On the embossed part of the glasses, she ran a glue pen over the raised edges and sprinkled it with superfine glitter (this is the part I didn't have to help on, and I'm strangely relieved by that!) - then finished off with glitter glue, rhinestones, and feathers. Here is a close up of all the colors:

Thanks for stopping by! And feel free to let me know what you think! I will pass it on to my friend!!!

I am also linking this up with She's a Sassy Lady's Multiple Card Challenge.

EXCITING news - I'm part of the 2012 Peachy Keen Design Team!!!

Good evening!!! I think this has been one of the hardest secrets to keep - but I am very excited (and so very honored) to be able to share with you that I get to join the Peachy Keen Stamp 2012 Design Team!!! I am so amazed to be able to join all these lovely talented ladies - and still can't believe that I was selected! With all the amazing Peachy talent out there, I really didn't think I stood a chance - but I am over the moon excited to have this opportunity!!! Here are links to the rest of the Design Team - I would highly recommend clicking along and checking them out - they are all SOOO amazing!!!

And...I just had to pull out my Peachy Keen stamps to make something to celebrate this occassion! And I just so happened to need a birthday card for my nephew who is turning 2 today as well! So here is what I came up with:
I used B is for Boysfor the lion and the oval (embossed with my Cuttlebug), and put him on an Action Wobble! Those are so much fun - especially for kids cards! Here are a couple shots of him in action:

All paper is from an Authentique 6x6 paper pad, edges are all inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo, sentiment is from Pink by Design, and the ribbon is from my stash, but just looked right for this card!
The face came from two different Peachy sets: I used the eyes from this set:

And the nose, mouth, and whiskers are from this set:

Thanks SOOOO much for stopping by to see me today! I can't wait to spend this year bringing you lots of Peachy goodness!

I know it's New Years...but one last Christmas card?

Sorry! I know that Christmas is over, but I never got a chance to post this card for the Play Date Cafe color challenge! Here is my take:
And here is the inspiration photo:

I used one of my Unity Stamp Company Blossom Stackers to make the "wreath" and added a Baker's Twine bow. The sentiment is from Pink by Design, with a bit of bling added under it with my Jolee's heat set tool.
Mounted it on kraft paper, inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo, and added some faux stitching. The pictures don't show it very well, but the green of the wreath is darker than the bling, so I did get both shades of green in there!
Thanks for visiting! Happy New Year!

Gift Card for a photography session...

I wanted to take a few minutes to post a card I made for a friend. She is a photographer (BEAUTIFUL work by the way! Here is her website if you want to check out her work: http://jennifereckerphotography.com) and wanted a card to hold a gift certificate for a free photography session with her to put on a giving tree. So...I pulled out one of my favorite Unity Stamp sets, and made this for her:

I used a frame cut that was leftover from another project and never got used, as well as some scraps of October Afternoon paper from some previous projects. The stamped image is from Unity Stamps, and the sentiment, which is just on a hand cut banner, is from Pink By Design.

I inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen, then added some Crinkle Ribbon to make a bow, as well as some PTI twine to tie the tag on.

I am entering this is several different challenges! The first is the Cuttlebug Spot - to use leftovers - which I did. Next is at My Craft Spot: Treat Packaging (I think a gift of a photography session is a GREAT treat!). The next one is the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Gift theme - and this is a holder for a gift. And finally, there is the Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More than Favors - Christmas Theme.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope and pray that you are having a restful and blessed Sunday!!!

Sweet 16 card!

Yesterday was my Sister-in-law's 16th birthday - and she has been counting down the days until she can get her driver's license! So...it only seemed fitting to make her a card with a car on it! I chose the car from Nifty Fifties and used some paper by Basic Grey and My Minds Eye:

And, my daughter thought it would be a great idea to make it wobble, SOOO...we put it on an Action Wobble:

Cut a tiny license plate using one of the labels from Preserves, and stamped on an abreviated "sweet 16" using Unity Stamps and Pink By Design stamps. Added a sentiment from My Creative Time on a handcut banner to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

World Cardmaking Day - Birthday Card Challenge

This is the only card that I actually got accomplished on Saturday for World Cardmaking Day! We were so busy with my daughters birthday party, but then I remembered that we were celebrating my nephews birthday on Sunday! So I was more than happy to sit down and play! And...I can also enter this into the Birthday Card Challenge over at Inking it Up!!!

I used Boys Will be Boys for the robot and background cut, and added some doodling with a black pen.

And...put him on an action wobble!!! Isn't it just so much fun?!?!?!

See him wobble?!?!?

Added the top part of the sentiment from a Pink by Design stamp set, and the bottom part from a Scrappy Mom set!

Thanks for stopping in! Hard to believe it is Monday already...ugh. My hubby is working really long hours right now - 13 and 14 hour days, 6 days a week. So Sundays are his only day off, at least hopefully he continues to get them off! So, we really enjoyed our time together as a family yesterday! And now we take a deep breath and try to get through another week! Should only be for a month and a half or so though, so we will make it! I might be doing LOTS of crafting to pass the time!!!

The Pink Stamper Design Team Call

Just for the fun of it, I thought I would make a card for the Design Team Call at My Pink Stamper. The challenge was to make a card with the colors green, brown, orange, turquoise, and one other color of your choice. I know how much Robin loves cupcakes, and I LOVE looking at (and drooling over!) all the yummy ones she has made and posted pictures of on her blog! So I decided to make a BUNCH of cupcakes with the colors of the challenge. I added the bright pink color as my optional color - I hope that the ivory cardstock doesn't count as its own color too, otherwise I picked 2 colors! (oops!)

I ended up making a tall card - it is 3 1/2 by 7 1/2. I used the border feature on Straight from the Nest for the cupcakes. I didn't have one of Robin's stamps that worked for the sentiment, so I used one from a set I had by Pink by Design. I ran the one layer of ivory cardstock through my Cuttlebug, pop-dotted the cupcakes, and matted it in brown. Other than that, I kept it pretty simple!

Hoppy Birthday!

Good morning! Today I have a card for Peachy Keen's LFIF Challenge: Make whatever you want with your favorite Peachy Keen Faces!!! Well...I don't think I could pick just ONE favorite!

All the cuts for this card are from Birthday Bash. Sentiment is Pink by Design. The bunny has a Peachy face from the Critter faces in medium, and a tiny bow out of Baker's Twine. Added LOTS of faux stitching, and some stick on pearls for the corners.

Happy Easter!!! And a birthday card for my Dad...

Good morning! And let me first and foremost wish everyone a very blessed Easter!!! I am preparing this the night before, to auto-post this morning, because it is a birthday card for my Dad! His birthday was yesterday, but we are celebrating it after church this morning, and I figured my chances of him NOT looking were better this morning than last night! So...if you are looking Dad - BE PATIENT!!! Love you! ;0)

For his card, I used the Sketch Challenge with a Twist over at Peachy Keen. Since it is their 50th sketch challenge, you also had to use metalic accents somewhere on your project. (I used gold brads)

So, all cuts came from Nifty Fifties. Sentiment is from Pink by Design. Added, of course, a cute Peachy Face and some ribbon. And...I couldn't resist, I put the TV on a wobble (LOVE 'EM)! The pictures at the bottom show a little of the action from that! Thanks for looking! And Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Easter...white with ink

I wanted to make an Easter card entirely out of white paper, so the other day I pulled out some paper, and my Cuttlebug and gave it a go.

I used the cartridge Lacey labels for the shaped card, welded on my Gypsy, and for the background shapes. The cross came from Indie Art using the shadow and blackout feature. I ran the layers through the Cuttlebug, but when it was all layed out, it just needed something more, so I ended up inking the edges of everything. Added a sentiment from Pink by Design and a bit of Baker's twine to finish it off.

One of my FAVORITE Unity stamps!

Seriously...I think this is one of my all time favorite Unity Stamp - it just makes me happy!

The main stamped image is from Unity Stamps February KOTM. I stamped the balloons an extra time on patterned paper and cut them out individually (a little more tedious of a task than I anticipated - but worth it for the results I think!) The sentiment is from Pink by Design. Finished off with a bow and some faux stitching and doodling around the edges.

Jack in the Box - on an Action Wobble!!!

Well...it took lots of tweaking, and I still think if I did this card again that there are a few things that I would change - but I couldn't get this idea out of my head once it popped in there!!! I was trying to think of ways to use my new action wobbles, when this jack in the box from Nate's ABC's popped into my head. (Of course, the fact that I was driving back from taking a friend to the airport and 3 AM and trying to stay awake probably had NOTHING to do with it!) I am also entering this in the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog - to make a "Just Because" project.

The jack in the box, of course, came from Nate's ABC's. I cut his head again separately to attach with a wobble (you can see the motion of it in the last two pictures, at least a little bit). I inked the edges of everything, added some faux stitching, and put glossy accents on the eyes, nose, and mouth. At my husband's suggestion I also cut a long narrow rectange to make a "table" for him to sit on - and that added SO much to the finished card...it just didn't look right before that! Finished off with a little Baker's Twine, and a sentiment from Pink by Design.

Yarn on cards

The other day, I went to a yarn store with a friend. Now, even though I know how to knit and crochet since I learned as a little girl, I have decided that I only have time for one hobby alongside daily life, and that is playing with paper. However, they had some really yummy yarns, including a basket full of small remants and such...sooooo, since I loved some of it, I decided, why not put it on a card?

For this card I used a Unity stamp from my February Kit of the Month, a sentiment from Pink by Design, and some coloring with my Prismacolor pencils. Added the yummy yarn I got with a button for the center, some inking around the edges, and a bit of Glossy Accents on the wings and over the sentiment. Finished off with a little bling in the corners with my Jolee's heat set tool, and some doodling in between.

"Fishing" you a happy birthday!

Okay, so ever since I got Nate's ABC's - I have LOVED this cute little image! So I knew it was only a matter of time till I was able to use it - and yesterday was the day!

Added a bunch of faux stitching, some cute little Baker's Twine bows around their necks, and isn't that the perfect sentiment from Pink by Design?!?!?
