Simon Says Stamp - Create Joy Release Hop

Good morning! I'm over the moon excited to be hopping with Simon Says Stamp to celebrate the new Create Joy Release this morning! It is such an amazing and fun holiday release! You can check it all out HERE.

First up, I had a ton of fun playing with the new Ring Wreath Wafer Die:

I die cut it out of white cardstock, then out of 3 different pattern papers from Basic Grey's Evergreen pattern papers. I very carefully trimmed out a backing for the wreath, and inlaid all the little pieces inside. This took a while - and I actually messed up the first time and had to start over again, but I think it was totally worth the effort! I then heat embossed a sentiment in white from the Big Add On's Stamp set, misted the background with some Mister Huey's and Heidi Swapp Color Shine, and adhered the wreath with foam adhesive, tucking the sentiment banner behind, and adding a natural jute string bow

And then, I had all the leftovers from the colored die cutting just sitting on my desk in a pile, and I thought - that kinda looks pretty all stacked together too! So I made a card out of it as well! I always think it's fun to find different ways to use stamps and dies - and thought this was fun!

So I used that Ring Wreath Wafer Die again, layered the pieces all up wonky together, and then stitched the layers together. I stamped a sentiment combining the new Create Joy Big sentiment stamp set combined with Big Add On's Stamp set again - layered together using Sunshine and Sparrow inks. Distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink after hand trimming into a banner shape, then attached with a tiny clothespin and added an ivory jute string bow. I attached the entire thing with some glue behind the banner (to hide the glue!) to some torn edge vellum, and on top of some more of that Basic Grey's Evergreen pattern paper

And finally - I just loved the beautiful font on the Create Joy Big sentiment stamp set - so I made a simple card with that:

I stamped the big "joy" with Lipstick Red Ink (LOVE the distressed look to that stamp!), then heat embossed a sentiment in white from the Big Add On's Stamp set and layered it over the top. Die cut a border with Wavy Scallop Stitches Wafer Die, and added some pattern paper from Basic Grey's Juniper Berry paper pad. Finished off with a twine bow and some tiny jingle bells.

Make sure and leave a comment here before you leave - Simon Says Stamp is giving a $50 goodie bag away at each stop! (I also have a $50 Simon Says gift certificate giveaway for one of my blog anniversary giveaways that is open for a few more days! You can check it out HERE if you're interested!)
