Watercolor and Masking

Good morning! I have been having lots of fun with watercolor paints the past couple of days - still one of my favorite techniques right now! Here is one I worked on with some Neat and Tangled stamps:

I created my mask by using some Post It adhesive paper, and roughly tearing a circle shape. I used that in the center of my watercolor panel to mask out the area for my sentiment. Then I used the Ink Splash stamp set to add my color. I painted right on the stamp with wet watercolor paint, then stamped around the mask.

Once I was done stamping, I pulled off my mask, then lightly misted it all with water to soften the edges up a bit. Once that dried, I stamped my sentiment from Just for You, added a little bling strip from Eyelet Outlet, then matted it on some Bazzil Cardstock.

Live Your Life Happy - Unity FWF

Good morning! Sharing a card this morning for the Unity Itty Bitty a Day Challenge going on the Unity Facebook page, as well as the usual weekly post for Unity Friends with Flair:

For this one, I used the itty bitty called "happy to be me" and some pattern paper from DCWV that I got from Michael's. I heat embossed the image, and my sentiment is cut out from some pattern paper in the same paper pad. Added some green washi strips, and some pretty ribbon from my stash to finish it off.

Anchor Love

Good morning! Dropping in again this morning with a card for the Unity Itty Bitty a Day Challenge going on the Unity Facebook page using the itty bitty "Love is my Anchor":

I heat embossed the image with silver embossing powder on vellum, then machine stitched that to my pattern paper. The banner is hand trimmed, with the sentiment heat embossed in white, and a tiny bit of jute twine tied on in a bow. Pattern paper I picked up from Hobby Lobby, and finished off with a tiny Tim Holtz paper clip.

Something fun...and a big THANKS!

Good morning everyone! Eeek! I'm still so excited - last Friday while gone on vacation, I got a very exciting email...one of the cards I sent in for Stamping Royalty was selected as a winner! In the Friendship category! You can read the announcement and see the rest of the winners on the Paper Crafts Connection blog. I can't share my winning card, since it will be published in the July issue of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine, but here is one of the other cards I sent in for the Thank You category - I thought it was fitting to share today:

For this card I used some watercolor paper cut with Lil' Inker's Stitched Rectangle dies, and stamped the beautiful wreath from Sweet Stamp Shop's Monogram It set in Versafine Ink. I found it works great with watercolors. I randomly added some color with watercolors, and added a bit of Wink of Stella for sparkle. Added some pearls to the flowers, and stamped my sentiment in the center.

Added some coordinating strips of washi tape on the bottom, some jute twine and a wood veneer feather covered with a couple coats of Wink of Stella for lots of sparkle, and attached it all to some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye. LOVE woodgrain papers right now!

I used my it's a Party itty bitty stamp, and colored it with Copic markers on a circle cut with my Lil' Inker's stitched circle dies.

Pattern paper is from a Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad, and that thin velvet ribbon is from May Arts. I stamped my sentiment on the bottom, added some jute twine, and attached my circle with foam adhesive.

Coral and Navy Birthday Wishes

Good afternoon! Just thought I would pop in real quick with a card for the Unity Itty Bitty a Day Challenge going on the Unity Facebook page: 

For some reason the color combo of coral and navy had been dancing in my head, so I pulled out Unity stamps Candles and Cake {wit & wisdom} and stamped it with Hero Arts Navy ink on white cardstock. I used some American Crafts pattern paper, and some MFT navy cardstock to mat it.

I used some Tim Holtz linen ribbon that I picked up on our recent trip out of town, as well as some Basic Grey enamel dots. The enamel dots are a lot more blue in person - they match quite well with the navy ink!

Thankful Monkey

Good morning! I've been slowly getting settled back in after being gone last week - amazing how much of a mess coming home makes! Also went to the dentist yesterday and discovered the reason for the awful toothache I had last week - I do in fact have an abscess tooth. So...a root canal is in my future tomorrow! Will be nice to have it fixed though - and was kind of nice to know I wasn't crazy about it hurting so much!

Anyway - thought I would share a card I got made before leaving town and didn't have time to post:

I used some fun Basic Grey pattern papers, and heat embossed a sentiment from Neat and Tangled's cute Thankful Turkey mini stamp set in white.

Added a twist of jute cording that I had in my stash to finish it off.
