Put on your party dress!

Hello! I have a card today that I made for the Birthday Sundae's inspiration photo! Here is the card I made:

And here is the photo for the inspiration:

You can probably tell that I was especially inspired by the colors! Such a pretty combination of colors! I stamped the dress from Unity Stamps and paper pieced it. The sentiment is also from Unity Stamps. I distressed the edges of the white piece, rounded the corners, and inked the edges. The doily is distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink, then darker ink on the very edges. Added some Baker's Twine, and a bit more inking to the edge of the card to finish it off.

Have a great day!

If friends were flowers...I'd pick you!

Hello! I almost didn't make it, but really wanted to enter this weeks Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge - to use Straight from the Nest. I also added some faux stitching around the edges, which makes it qualify for the Sew Much Fun challenge over at My Craft Spot. Here is the card I made:

I used (of course!) Straight from the Nest, and my Scrappy Mom's stamps for the sentiment. I love this quote!!!

The flowers are the border feature on this cartridge, and I inked the edges, added a rhinestone center, and pop-dotted them from the card.

Inked the edges of the card, rounded two of the corners, and added a Baker's Twine bow to finish it off!

Moxie Fab Horizontal Sketch - Owl-trageous!!!

Here is my card:

And here is the sketch:

Here is a close up of the windows where the owls are peaking through:

I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook to cut the front panel with the windows, then stamped and paperpieced the owls from Unity Stamps behind the windows.

The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co., and I added some coordinating bling with my Jolee's heat set tool as well.

Thanks again for visiting!

One more for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Eek! I was going to post this tomorrow, but happened to look tonight, and realized that tonight is the deadline for turning this in! So...here I am!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I had made another entry for this, but this paper inspired me to try another one. I actually one this set from Basic Grey called Out of Print - and had to go buy the 6x6 pad for making cards! Isn't it yummy?!?!?!?!

The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co., and the border is cut with a Martha Stewart edge punch. I added some doodling around the edges, some buttons and jute cord, a bit of ribbon, and the pom-poms on a wire which are by Martha Stewart as well.

Thanks for visiting!

Market Street Block Party!

Good afternoon!!! I saw the info on Market Street Stamps blog this morning about their Block Party - and since I had won this set from another blog recently, and still hadn't inked it up, it seemed like the PERFECT opportunity!!! I LOVE this set! So cute!!! Here is what I came up with:

Click HERE to go read more details about the Block Party!

I colored the rocket with Copics, stamped the stars with colored ink, then used the outline one and small one in black. Did some inking around the edges of the rocket and the card in white ink.

The rocket is also pop-dotted from the background - you can see it a little better here:

Anyway, good luck to all the entrants - everything I saw so far looked fabulous - but I really needed the kick in the pants to pull this set out! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Cricut 360 - Challenge #9 - Relax

Hello! It's time for Challenge #9 at Cricut 360 - Relax is the theme this time around! I had kind of a crazy week, so I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to spend on this, but that's okay. Sometimes simple is good! Here is the card I came up with:

Something about a rocking chair just makes me want to relax looking at it, doesn't it you? And I remembered happening upon this great cut on Kate's ABC's - it is hiding in the alphabet key! Anyway, I cut it out, and covered it with Glossy Accents. I don't know if you can see, but it shines so pretty!

I then cut a background with my go-to cartridge - Elegant Edges! Did some doodling around the edges, added a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co., and finished off with some sheer ribbon.

So - I'd love to see what you come up with! Click HERE to come join the fun for a chance to win this weeks prize!

Unity Friends with Flair

Hello! It's Friday - which means it's time for Unity Stamp Co. Friends with Flair! Just a quick card today - used the April KOTM, stamped it three times, paper pieced the shirts, and added a sentiment! Wow...that means that is two cards in a row that are pretty clean and simple! That must be a record for me! Make sure and head over to the Unity Blog to join in for a chance to win some Unity Stamps!

Moxie Fab World Square Sketch Challenge

Busy day today watching my friends 3 young boys age 1, 3, and 5 - so I was pretty happy to sneak this in between watching them and canning green beans -7 quarts, and 7 pints to be exact! I feel like super-mom today!!!

This is for the Square Sketch Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. Here is my take:

And here is the original sketch:

The teacup stamp is from the February 2011 KOTM from Unity Stamp Co. I stamped it in varying heights , alternating between pink and pale green ink. The sentiment is from the same kit, and stamped in a deep gray color. Finished off by rounding the top left corner with my Martha Stewart corner rounder.

This is definately a harder style card for me to make! One layer, clean, and simple. That's why I decided to try it out with the sketch, so that it really would be a challenge! I also had a difficult time getting a good picture - it really is white cardstock for the base of the card! Anyway, thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Moxie Fab World - Fabulous Felt Challenge!

Good morning! I really wasn't too happy with these pictures, but that is because I took them after dark and didn't have the benefit of daylight to help make them bettter. Oh well!

I made this card for the Moxie Fab World - Fabulous Felt challenge. It was kind of fun playing with felt and trying to use it in a different way than normal. I started with the green piece of felt and ran it through my Cuttlebug folder that I had lightly sprayed with Walnut ink, and dried off almost entirely. The picture doesn't show it very well, but the felt is not only embossed, but the raised part has been darkened a bit with the ink. Then I did some inking around the edges of all the paper, and some machine stitching around the edges of the felt and pattern paper.

I stamped the sentiment, by Unity Stamp Co. on a circle of cream felt, stacked two of them together, with another smaller piece in the middle, and sewed them together. Added some jute cord for a bow, a banner, and a few stick on pearls.

I also used the color inspiration from the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. Here is the photo:

Thanks for stopping by!!! Tomorrow is Friday - that means Unity Friends with Flair, and a new Cricut 360 post! See you then!

Anniversary Card

Good morning! Yesterday was my Mother and Father-in-law's anniversary, and I wanted to make them a special card. I had seen the sketch over at Random Acts of Creativity, and thought it was so beautiful - so I decided to use it for my card. Here is my take on the sketch:

Here is the sketch:

The corner doily shape is cut with my Cricut from Elegant Edges. The banner is hand cut, and the I inked the edges of everything. The flower image is a Unity Stamp, with a bit of Stickles added for some sparkle! The sentiment was one from my stash - by Fiskars I think. This pictures shows the glitter on the flowers best:

I added some pretty lace, some machine stitching, a few stick on pearls, and some sheer ribbon to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by!!!

50th Anniversary Card

Whew!!! This took most of the morning to make - but I am so excited at how it came out! One of my husbands co-workers requested a card for his parents 50th Anniversary using a wedding picture and a recent picture. The pictures were a challenge to use, because they were pictures taken by a cell phone of the orginal pictures in their frame. The second picture in particular had a lot of glare, and a perfect reflection of the person taking the picture! So I did some playing and editing in Adobe Photoshop, then printed them on vellum - I think it helped a LOT in the final quality.

And I had planned on entering this in the sketch challenge over at My Mind's Eye - but just realized I was a day late!!! Oh well!

I cut frames for the pictures from Elegant Edges, added some white ink, then glossy accents and Martha Stewart glitter around the edges, and finished them off with a couple of stick on pearls. They are also pop-dotted from the background. The doilies are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink. There is some black lace along the bottom, inking and machine stitching along the outside edges, and a lot of bling that I added with my Jolee's heat set tool.

The bow is made from a scrap of black ribbon, some crinkle ribbon, a bit of floss, and a button punched out with a Martha Stewart button punch. The button was then inked, covered with Glossy Accents, and some more Martha Stewart glitter. The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment is from a clear stamp set in my stash - I think by Fiskars, and the inside sentiment is from 40:31 Creations.

The easel card if held up by a border cut with a Fiskar's border punch which is pop-dotted from the base card. Thanks so much for looking - have  great day!!!

Action Wobble Puppy Card!!!

Good morning! I had a blast creating this card! It was made for one of my daughter's best friends who is celebrating her 8th birthday! I am also entering this in the Peachy Keen LFIF challenge - Our Furry Friends, and the Fantabulous Cricut - Birthday Bash Challenge.

I cut that cut puppy from Create a Critter, inked the edges a bit, added a Peachy Keen face and a Baker's Twine bow - then put him on an Action Wobble!!! (Which, by the way, are back in stock at Peachy Keen - I'm SOOOO happy to see that they have them again - I was starting to get scared I would run out!)

Here is a couple pictures of how the Action Wobble works:

The background is just a rectangle that I rounded the corners on then ran through my Cuttlebug. Added a bit off ribbon, some inking, and a sentiment from My Pink Stamper.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a fabulous week!!!

Cricut 360 - Challenge #8 - Back to School!

Good morning! It's Friday, which means it's time for another challenge over at Cricut 360! Make sure and hop over to see who won last week's prize, and who the top 3 picks for the week are. Our new challenge for the week is all about...you guessed it - Back to School! Can't believe it is that time already! I homeschool both of my girls, and I really don't feel ready for the summer to be over yet - but I don't know if I ever would feel that way! So...here is my card to celebrate that it is almost here!

I used Give a Hoot to cut out the apple, added some inking and stitching with my white gel pen, and used some Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart chunky glitter in the center of the apple. The background is just a rectangle of paper that I punched the edge on with an EK success punch and ran through my Cuttlebug. The tag was cut from Once Upon a Princess, and the sentiment is from Unity Stamps.

Added some more inking and stitching around the edges of the card, some bling with my Jolee's Heat Set tool, and some buttons and jute cord. Also pop-dotted the apple when attaching it to the card!

Hope you enjoyed looking - now head on over to the Cricut 360 blog to see what the rest of the Design Team whipped out, and to link up your own creation for a chance to win this weeks prize! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

I am also entering this in three challenges - this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge - back to school with the 3 R's - ribbon, rhinestones, and the color red (the jute cord counts as ribbon, right?), and this weeks challenge over at Bitten By the Bug 2 - make a project using the Cricut, a stamp, and the color red. The last challenge is the Unity Stamp Company Challenge, Back to School. And one last one - the Learning Curve Challenge over at Paper Issues.

Unity FWF and Case Study Challenge

Good Friday morning - and another week of Friends with Flair! I just got my new Unity August KOTM day before yesterday, and couldn't resist taking a few second to ink it up a little yesterday morning. I also used it as an opportunity to participate in the Case Study Challenge this week to Case Chupa's Blog - and that took a long time to look through and choose something!

Here is what I made:

I know mine ended up a bit more elaborate, but I couldn't help myself!!! I really tried to resist adding the buttons, but couldn't quite manage it! Stamped the ferris wheel on my background paper, then the "fun, fun, fun" in orange all over the background, after masking out the ferris wheel. The sentiment is also from this set - isn't it elegant? Love that font! Did some machine stitching around the edges, and added the buttons with some jute cord tied in a bow.

Now make sure and leave a comment, then hop on over to the Unity Blog to play along for a chance to win some free stamps!!! Have a great weekend!!!
