Growing in Unity Day 4

Good morning! Today is the 4th day of my week of Growing in Unity for Unity Stamp Company! In case you don't know how it works, make sure and leave a comment everyday for a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty stamps of your choice at the end of the week. I will draw a winner from comments left throughout the entire week.

Now...onto the projects! I decided it would be fun to take some of the fun Sassy Sentiments by Erin Schreiner and focus on those for the week! I will be using one sentiment two different ways for each day of this week, paired up with die cuts or other Unity stamp images. One more classy or vintage inspired, and one more CAS, retro, or modern. Something like that anyway! So, for today I chose the speech bubble sentiment "that's what she said." from the set called Hiya Gorgeous. Here is the first card I made with it:

I am SOOOO loving this first card! I also used the stamp set called Deer to Me for the deer and bottom sentiment. I used some pattern paper from Crate Paper's 6x6 DIY Shop paper pad and paper pieced the deer. I added enamel dots for the noses (LOVE!) and some bling from Michaels on the spots.

I trimmed the banner on the bottom by hand, stamped the sentiment in two colors with PTI ink, and added some distress ink to the edges. I stamped the sentiment using MFT ink, then fussy cut it out. I attached the deer, sentiment speech bubble, and sentiment banner with foam adhesive for lots of fun dimension.

The rest of my pattern paper is from the same Crate Paper pad, and I rounded the top couple corners of the front panel. Finished off with some lace, and red jute twine around the bottom of the card.

And, the next card has a remarkably similar color scheme! I didn't plan it that way, actually didn't notice until I was all finished. Oops! I still think it has a completely different look:

For this one, I used one of my all time favorite Unity images from the March 2011 Kit of the Month. I also noticed that it is now available as an itty bitty stamp called Queen of the Universe. I stamped it with MFT ink on a rectangle cut with my Lil' Inker's Rectangle Dies, and added the sentiment with some red MFT ink. The edges were distressed with some Tim Holtz distress ink.

Background paper is from Crate Paper as well, also distressed on the edges. I tucked a doily cut with my new favorite die from My Craft Spot - 4" Doily die - and added some red stitched ribbon I picked up recently from Michael's and a bit of jute twine. Finished off with some gold sequins, and mounted with foam adhesive on an Avery Elle cream cardstock cardbase - also with distressed edges.

That's it for today! I'll see you again tomorrow for my last two more cards using another sentiment! Have a great day!!!
