Lil' Inker's June Release Day 2

Hello - welcome back to the second day of hops for brand new release at Lil' Inker Designs! You should have arrived here from Sarah Jay - if you stopped by here you can refer to the entire blog hop at the bottom so you don't miss a stop or a chance to win one of the giveaways. I also have links to all the new products I used on all of today's cards!

I'm super excited about today's cards! I have been wanting a stamp set for one of my favorite hymns, and thanks to the new Sassy Script Stamp Set and my MISTI, I was able to make my own, so I made several cards with the same front and just different colors!

I first stamped a master sheet with black ink, then used that to line everything up in my Misti. I placed my master sheet in the MISTI, laid as many letters on as I could without them touching, then picked them up with my MISTI, swapped out my papers, and stamped three times in Versamark ink. It took me three sets to get everything done, partly because some of the letters were used 3 times - but then I was able to heat emboss them all at once as well. I also saved my master sheet, that way if I make any more down the road, I have done all the work already!

Once I had them all heat embossed, I die cut them with stitched rectangles, and picked my background wood grain pattern paper for each to coordinate best with the paper. A tiny border of vellum helped set them off from the background.

Before adhering everything together, I used my new Gansai Tambai Starry Colors watercolor palette to add some gold splatters, varying which gold I used to best coordinate with the paper. Love all the choices of gold in that palette! On accident I had a big splatter on one of the letters, and as I tried to clean it off it smeared...oops! However, I ended up liking the way it made that word pop, so I went ahead and did the same thing to all of them! :) When all that dried, I felt like they needed a bit more, so added some white paint splatters as well to finish off. I attached the layers just in the center, that way the top and bottom edges could curl up a little for some subtle dimension.

Your next stop along the blog hop is Lisa Henke - head over there next to finish the hop before you go shopping. See you tomorrow with more projects and fun!

And now the really fun part! There is, of course, a chance to win some shopping money to spend on the new goodies! YAY! Laura is giving away 3 gift certificates for random comments left along the hop - so the more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!

Here is the entire Blog Hop line-up - make sure and check out each stop and leave your comments:
