Color My World - Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop

Good morning! stopping by today for the monthly Reverse Confetti blog hop! This is a non-release month, so instead of showcasing new products, we are sharing projects using already released items - make sure and leave a comment before you leave for a chance to win a $15 gift card to Reverse Confetti!

I have a couple of bright rainbow cards to share today featuring lots of distress inking! It was an idea that popped into my head as I was falling asleep one night - and the next morning woke up and couldn't wait to put the idea on a card. The card on the left was the original design idea, the card on the left evolved from my negative cuts and leftovers that I couldn't bear to throw away. I started playing around with them, and the second card design was born!

I started off by stamping and white heat embossing the tree from Merry Christmoose several times on white cardstock, then blending a rainbow of distress inks over the top. Once I finished that, I used the coordinating Merry Christmoose Confetti Cuts to die cut the trees.

I layered them all down on my white card the way I wanted, then used Press and Seal to pick them all up, apply foam adhesive to the back, and press back in place on my card front.

I added my sentiment from Work of Art, and then some of the snowflakes from Merry Christmoose randomly sprinkled around the top.

For the next card, as I mentioned above, I used all the negative cuts from the first card!

I trimmed them all down slightly, then layered on the card front, using some slightly wonky angles and overlapping a bit. Since they weren't perfectly sized, this worked to hide the imperfections and make them function as a design element.

I added LOTS of dots with a white gel pen to mimic snowflakes, then filled each tree in with several drops of coordination Nuvo Jewel drops. Finished off by heat embossing a sentiment from Worm Wishes on a strip of Midnight cardstock and attaching with foam adhesive.

Now I can't decide which one I like better! Which one is your favorite?

Here is a peek at the products that I used on my projects today! All photos are linked to the Reverse Confetti Store!

  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one who designs
while in bed. I get some of my best
ideas when I wake up during the night,
get to thinking about what I'm doing, and
define changes or basic construction of
    a pending card.
Love the trees - they are so colorful.
    thanks for sharing.
