Good morning! I have a couple cards to share this morning - here, as well as on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog! I'm using some adorable Pinkfresh pattern paper and stamped images - and no coloring required! I absolutely love coloring my images, but sometimes it is fun to focus on stamping and layering instead. These cards both use a similar type of layout, and feature two adorable stamp sets - Train Ride and Squirrel Friends:
All my pattern paper came from the Holiday Vibes 6x6 Paper Pad - I love the bright happy colors in the collection!
For this first card - I knew I wanted to use the darling images from Train Ride for my card. I started off by doing some stamping with colored ink. My brain kind of got tied up in knots with all the images and colors I chose, and I ended up with a hot mess! So, I decided to stamp it out with black ink just to get a feel for it - and then, I fell in LOVE with the results! I love the sort of silhouette feel it gives to the images! The easiest way to stamp these images is to die cut with the Coordinating Train Ride Dies first, then stamp your images to fill in the die cut. I didn't even use a stamp positioner - just a clear block with my black ink. Super easy to line up!
I layered some pattern paper together, an dded some torn strips of vellum on the bottom - stitched together with my sewing machine. The train images were added with foam adhesive, and a heat embossed sentiment from the set on a tiny hand trimmed banner was the perfect finishing touch!
Next up, I pulled out my Squirrel Friends stamp set to put together this card. I was definitely planning on coloring my images for this one originally, but I so loved the simple look of the first card, that I decided to just go with that flow and leave this one uncolored as well. This one also works wonderfully to die cut with the Coordinating Squirrel Friends Dies, then stamp your images into place. I loved adding the scarves on the squirrels too! (ignore the stray snowflake in this first photo...I think it made its way on there as I was taking my photos!)
I did the same thing with the vellum on this one, but added a few additional layers, and tucked the bottom of my images into the vellum layers for the feeling of snow underneath them. I also added my sentiment heat embossed on a square of black cardstock for this card.
I hope these inspired you to look at your stamps in a different way - not always needing to color your images, or even stamp in color!
Sometimes it is fun to just go back to basics - and the simple stamping can make such a simple and striking card!
