Good morning! So excited this morning to be hopping for Day 2 of the blog hop to celebrate the FABULOUS BRAND NEW Summer release from Pretty Pink Posh - full of fresh, fun, and tropical fun!!! Keep reading for more info, details on my card I'm sharing today, AND of course, some giveaway info at the bottom as well!
Today I'm sharing this bright, happy, and tropical card with you that I actually created for my daughter's 16th birthday last weekend! She loves all things tropical - we love visiting my brother and his family in Hawaii - so I knew the new Hibiscus Flower stamp set was a perfect choice for her card!
I started off by creating the background on a white cardbase. I used the new Triangles Stencil (a wonderful basic stencil for your stash!) and blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink over the center, then added some clear Glimmer Mist over the top - perfect way to stretch your clear glitter paste to create more colors!
While that dried, I stamped the flowers and leaves from Hibiscus Flowers on watercolor cardstock and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. I took my time and watercolored them in with my Daniel Smith watercolors - building and layering color until I was happy with the finished effect. Once those dried, I die cut them with the Coordinating Hibiscus Flower Dies.
I planned how I wanted to arrange my flowers and leaves, then picked up the arrangement with Press and Seal, added foam adhesive and liquid glue to the back of the entire thing, and pressed into place on my background. I heat embossed my happy birthday sentiment from an older stamp set - Fox Friends - on a small piece of black cardstock, and adhered that over the top.
Final finishing touch was a few perfectly coordinating jewels from the new Citrus Jewels Mix! Just right for adding a bit more sparkle!
