Birthday Love Shaker Card - Simon Says Stamp Be Creative Instagram Hop

Good morning! Today I'm joining a fun Instagram hop to celebrate the Be Creative Release from Simon Says Stamp! Lots of inspiration to be found, and some great prizes as well! Head over to my Instagram HERE to check it out! But as always with an Insta hop, there are only so many details you can get in that tiny caption, so I always like to do a full blog post with ALL the details!

You may have noticed, but yes, I used the same two main sets that I've used on all my cards for this release. They are fun, there are lots of ways to use them, AND...I always need birthday cards! This time I decided to create a shaker with the new Simon Says Stamp branded acetate that was part of the release. Since it is heat resistant, it was perfect for heat embossing that Bunch of Balloons image, AND creating a shaker!

I heat embossed them in gold on the acetate, then trimmed to an A2 panel to create my shaker. I used the second largest Basic Rectangles die to create a window in an A2 white cardstock panel, and attached my acetate panel behind that.

I added foam adhesive on the frame, and then filled my shaker with lots of the Lucky Charm sequin mix that was part of the new release. Shaker cards just never get old - so sparkly and fun!

For the sentiment, I again used Big Old Birthday, and stamped a sentiment in black. This time I used Versafine ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This gave it a bit of shine to coordinate with all the sparkle and shine on this shaker card!

Since I didn't have the coordinating dies (yet...I had to order them, so they are on their way to me now!) - I just fussy cut it out with my scissors this time.

I added a little bundle of gold thread, and tucked it under the sentiment before adhering it in place. It's not super obvious, but it's a fun little addition to the finished card!

And there you go! A super fun party in a card! I think shaker cards are the very best for birthdays - it's a celebration, so why not make it fun, right?

I also think this would be super fun in lots of different colors of shaker filling! Which colors would you choose?
