Purple Daisies Hello Friend - Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit

Good evening! I'm stopping by to share my first card created with the BRAND NEW March Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Stronger Together! This kit has such a happy spring feeling to it - the included large stamp set by the same name is just lovely, the cute little Hello die is super fun, the pattern paper is GORGEOUS, I'm loving the watercolor pencil set included - not to mention the Cardstock, Envelopes, and more!

The past couple months I decided to try filming a video for my cards using the monthly card kits - I have had such a great response so far that I will continue as time allows. I've posted the video for this card on my YouTube channel HERE, and also below so you can watch either place you prefer. :)

Here is a look at the video I created sharing how this card came together:

For today's card I broke open and used the included watercolor pencils in the kit to color in one of the beautiful pre-printed Custom Watercolor Cards designed by Suzy Plantamura. Watercolor pencils aren't something I've used a lot - so I was super happy with how easy these worked! I added a torn edge to the paper, heat embossed sentiment from the Stronger Together stamp set, and tucked a bit of pattern paper under the panel - super fun and easy card!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Snowy Scene with Watercolor Pencils

Good morning! I'm stopping by with a card using another one of the many fabulous releases from Unity Stamp Company that happened on Friday, paired up with another fabulous sale as well! It's been a while since I had time to work with any of the new releases (besides my weekly posts on the Unity Blog) so today I had fun creating a few videos with the new items that just released. The adorable Brisk Salutations promises to become a new favorite! It is the perfect size for A2 cards, and since it had been a while since I used my watercolor pencils, I thought it would be fun to break out and use those for this fun image!

Here is the video showing how fun it is to use watercolor pencils!

I can't help but remember the fun paint by number books I used when I was a kit! Something about watercolor pencils reminds me of the magic of those! I have found the best way to use them is to add all the color first, then come in with the water next.

I also added a good coating of white paint splatters to mimic snow - a snowy scene just wouldn't be the same without it, right?

Finally, a simple sentiment from another new release - Winter Apple Blossom - finishes this card off.

Birthday Holiday - Simon Says Stamp Watercolor Prints

Good morning! Dropping by once again today with another fun birthday card that I created recently using one of the adorable prints from the Suzy's Watercolor Prints - Celebrate Dads from Simon Says Stamp! Even though there are several images in there for Father's Day, there are also lots of images that are super versatile for other times of the year as well! Still working to replenish my depleted birthday stash, so I figured I'd make a birthday card again with one of the prints!

This image I decided to color with watercolor pencils - which is actually a medium I haven't used much at all, so it was super fun to play with them on this! I basically colored the entire image in with the pencils, then went over one section at a time with a wet brush to soften and blend the colors. I couldn't help but feel like I was doing one of those paint with water books from when I was a kid - so very fun!

Once that dried VERY thoroughly, I die cut it with Stitched Rectangle, then came back in with some of the colors to add additional shading and blending to finish it off. That was matted with a bit of white cardstock, then mounted on a Green Leaf top folding cardbase.

Finished off with a fun little sentiment from Tiny Words Birthday Stamp Set - heat embossed on a bit of Royal Purple cardstock and popped up with foam adhesive. Isn't this sentiment fun with this image?!?!?

Winter in July - Unity Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for a wintery blog hop with Unity Stamp Company to celebrate some brand new releases! Woohoo!! As always, there are prizes up for grabs, and tons of inspiration as well! I have two simple cards I made using new releases to share tonight:

First up - I love this new Angie Girl called Caitlyn Girl! I can't help but want to add onto the sentiment Olaf's line from Frozen - "Some people are worth melting for!"

A couple days ago I picked up my first watercolor pencils - kind of hard to believe I didn't have a set before this! Well...I am officially in love! These two cards were my first time using them, and they are SOOO fun to play with!

I also used them on this second card - all the scarfs in rainbow order, or course! This stamp set uses the new stamp set called Unique:

For this one I added some details with a white gel pen once it dried.

They are both mounted on foam on the cardbase - just a bit of dimension and interest.

GIVEAWAY INFO:

Here is the entire blog hop line-up - make sure and hit every stop and leave comments along the way to win a Unity Prize Pack!
