Now...I have to admit, I've never been much of a fan of neon. Although I remember being a kid in the 90's...so there may have been a time or two that I was convinced it was cool - but it was short lived! Anyway, when I saw the Keen for Neon Challenge over on the Moxie Fab World...I decided to stretch myself and give it a go anyway!
I started off with one plan...then changed my mind...then went back to the original plan! Anyone else ever do that?
I started off with some of the fun goodies I got in my World Card Making Day prize box (which, by the way, was SOOOO much fun to go through! Christmas came early here, that's for sure! And it was fun to find lots of things I wouldn't normally think I would use, and I've already fallen in love with some of the goodies in there - and I didn't even know I was missing out!)
So...back to the goodies - I used a small paper pad that was in there by DCWV called the Satiny Smooth Stack. The colors looked pretty bright and neon to me! So I cut them with a MFT Die-namics die, and layered them all together, then trimmed to fit the spot I wanted on my card. This is where I almost changed my mind...I decided to heat emboss the Christmas light bulb from Market Street Stamps in black right on this layer. Here is how it turned out:
Then I went back to the original plan, of stamping, coloring with a yellow and pink HIGHLIGHTER - then cutting out, and coating with diamond glaze before attaching it with pop-dots - right over the embossed one I put on there before. I actually already had this one done and drying, and was just too impatient for it to finish drying! But...once it dried, I decided I liked it better with it on.
The sentiment is from the same Market Street Stamps set. Even though neon hasn't necessarily always been my thing, I have to say I kind of think this card is a little bit fun!
What do you think? Are you a fan of neon? I'd love to know!
