Winnie and Walter February Release Day 1

Good morning! YAY! I've been super busy getting all the projects for this weeks release at Winnie and Walter (sharing a few sneak peeks here and there on Instagram) - so I'm SUPER excited to be able to start sharing these projects I've been working on with the brand new release! So much fun and cute all rolled into one!!! I have two (or three) cards to show you each day - so without further ado, here are my cards for Day 1!

First up - this subtle gray and black card - this uses a new stencil called Pattern of Rings Creative Screenings - I always forget how fun stencils are until I pull them out! This one is fabulous for a soft and pretty background like this - I used a soft gray ink and focused on one corner of my card.

I then die cut the fun new Kisses Cutaway from black cardstock, attached with foam adhesive, and covered with Glossy Accents - LOVE the shine that gives word die cuts! Finished off with an additional bit of the sentiment - and those fun hearts that look like they're blowing off the top of the "i" from another new set that we'll be seeing more of later this week called So Tweet. I used Noelle Cutaways to frame the front panel with some little black scallops - trimmed the front so it was just slightly smaller, then rounded the corners so it fit perfectly over the scallops. Mounted with foam onto my card base.

Next up - a slightly brighter watercolored card using the new In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers. This set is filled with flowers that are perfect for layering - but I wanted to try something a little different, so I just picked a couple of the outlines (designed to stamp INSIDE the solid flower images) and watercolored and fussy cut them out. I heat embossed them with platinum embossing powder on watercolor cardstock before coloring them.

I layed the flowers down about where I wanted them, then lifted them up one or two at a time to add the leaves and some of the other smaller elements from the stamp set. I added some doodling with a white gel pen on the leaves, and a few other spots, then attached the flowers with a bit of strong glue, only in the centers - that way they still curl off the page and have lots of dimension. Finished off with a sentiment from another new set we'll see later this week as well - called, appropriately, Kindness.

That's it for me today! Make sure and head over to the Winnie and Walter blog to see some of the other projects, as well as links to the rest of the Design Team - AND, find out how to win some of these fun new goodies!

Thanks so much for dropping by - here are links to MOST of the supplies I used - new products I will link above when they go live in the store at the end of the week. Have a wonderful day!

  7. Hi Heather, love both of these wonderful cards. By using the glossy accents your kisses certainly jump right off the card. Fantastic! The beautiful bright colours of your flowers and water coloured gingham background really makes a wonderful cheery and happy card. x

  8. Hi Heather, OOps, my comment above about your gingham background was meant for your wonderful clouds card. Got my cards mixed with my comments, my excuse is it's early here in Aussie land and old age....sorry!!:)
