Happy Birthday Floral Shaker Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm back today with a shaker card I created with some stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp! Definitely a sparkly pink and girly card on this one!

I started off by creating the floral background stamp using the large rubber Cosmos background stamp and 3 colors of distress oxide inks. I inked up the stamp with the 3 colors of ink, overlapping them slightly, misted it with water, then placed my watercolor paper face down on the stamp, and pressed down all across before lifting it to reveal the pretty background.

Next, I created a shaker window using Basic Rectangles dies and white cardstock, and filling it with sparkly clear Pretty Pink Posh crystals. I love that they are clear so you can still see the background through them, but they add a lovely sparkly filling to my shaker!

Next up, I die cut both layers of the Big Happy Shadow word die - the detail one from glittery pink cardstock, and the shadow layer from white cardstock. I adhered them together, and then over the top of my shaker. Finished off with a tiny supporting sentiment using Tiny Words Birthday and heat embossing it on a thin strip of Slate cardstock, then tucking it through and around the large "happy" word.

Picnic Spread - Simon Says Stamp August 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I've got one more card to share today created with the August Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Picnic Parade! What a fun summery feel this kit has! The included Large Hello Sunshine Stamp Set has so many fun graphic images to play with, and is and filled with fabulous sentiments, there is some fabulous pattern paperadorable stickers - not to mention the Cardstock, slimline envelopes, and more!

As soon as I looked at the fun pattern paper in the kit - that red gingham just jumped out at me as perfect to create a tablecloth, and therefore a fun scene with it - so I had to do it!

I started off by layering together the green and blue pattern paper, then trimmed the red at a fun angle to layer over to give the feel of a tablecloth. I then added lots of the fun Mini Icon stickers on the top of the table, popped up with foam adhesive for dimension.

Added a heat embossed sentiment from the Hello Sunshine stamp set, then finished off with some white stitching around the outside with a white gel pen to complete the homespun feel to this card!

What else would you enjoy adding to your picnic table?

Praying for You - Die Cutting and Ink Blending - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm here today to share a simple card I created with some stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp, and one of the new Pink and Main MINI Ergonomic Blender brushes that I received recently to try out! I actually ordered a complete set before I even tried this one, because I already knew based on how much I loved the full size one, that I would undoubtedly love these as well. I definitely wasn't disappointed!

I think one of the things in particular I love about the mini size is how well they fit my mini ink cubes. While I have the full size distress oxide inks, I mostly use mini's for my normal distress inks. These brushes are the perfect size to use with those! YAY!

I created an ink blended panel on a white cardbase, masking off the area I wanted to add color to, and mixing two colors of distress ink. I then layered together 3 die cuts using Lotus Frame die, and adhered that over my panel. I also created a frame using two different sizes of Basic Rectangle Dies, and popped that up with foam adhesive around the outside to add another layer of dimension.

The sentiment is from Moments of Grace Stamp set, and was heat embossed on some white cardstock, then I ink blended over the top to custom color it to match my panel. I popped that up with foam adhesive, then finished off with a few white Pretty Pink Posh jewels for some sparkle!

Slimline Ant Card - Simon Says Stamp August 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! Yep - I'm back with another card created with the August Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Picnic Parade! What a fun summery feel this kit has! The included Large Hello Sunshine Stamp Set has so many fun graphic images to play with, and is and filled with fabulous sentiments, there is some fabulous pattern paper,  adorable stickers - not to mention the Cardstock, slimline envelopes, and more!

Today I created a slimline card to share using some of the darling stickers in the kit, sentiments from the large stamp set, and a bit of pattern paper - all perfectly paired up with one of the slimline envelopes in the kit!

I started off by cutting some small circles from some of the pattern paper, then die cut a couple more from vellum, tore them in half, and attached them together with a little bow of jute twine and a tiny stapler.

I layered a couple of the adorable ants and heart stickers from the Doodlebug Picnic Parade Sprinkles in the Kit (love how dimensional and fun they are!) - and then attached them with foam adhesive to a slimline card base. Finished off with a sprinkling of sentiments from the Hello Sunshine stamp set in the kit, and a couple extra little hearts to accent the two sentiments that are unique on the card.

Gonna Need Those Shades - Simon Says Stamp August 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm stopping by with my first card created with the August Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Picnic Parade!

For my card I'm sharing today, I'm simply using the large stamp set in the kit to create this fun and graphic layered design!

I used my MISTI to stamp all the images - starting off with that lovely sunburst in (what else?) Sunshine dye ink! I then stamped the larger sentiment underneath with Audrey Dye ink - love the contrast of the yellow and blue, and the way that they are traditional sky colors with more graphic in the layout.

Next, I added the secondary sentiment, sunglasses, and that little heart with black ink - I chose 3 images and tried to arrange them to draw the eyes around the card since they were the darkest part of the card. At this point, it still felt like it needed a little something else - so I grabbed those cloud images and stamped them using Fog ink - the perfect hint of an image color!

Finished off with some Sparkly Clear Confetti sprinkled about - the perfect bit of shine!

Together Again - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm here today to share ANOTHER attempt at no line watercoloring - this time using a different image from Simon Says Stamp, and my Pinkfresh Liquid watercolors for a different medium. This ended up with an entirely different feel to it - but I really like how it came out. Still lots more practicing to do though!

For this card I used the beautiful leaf image from Be Kind stamp set and stamped as before with Antique Linen distress ink, but this time on Tonic Watercolor cardstock. Once again, I took my time and slowly watercolored the image in, this time with liquid watercolors

Once that dried nice and thoroughly, I added several sentiments from Stronger Together stamp set over the top - building them together to create one large sentiment, and stamping with my MISTI so I could stamp several times over the watercolor paper to get a clear impression.

I die cut that panel with Wonky Rectangles, and mounted on some more Lawn Fawn pattern paper before adhering on my A2 card base!

You Lift Me Up No Line Watercoloring - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! A couple weeks ago I posted a sneak on Instagram at this attempt at no-line watercoloring. I DEFINITELY feel like this is an area I want to spend a lot more time practicing. Honestly, it's one of those things that feels like I will never get, so I don't spend much time trying? But...I'm determined to keep putting some effort into it and try to get better!

This card uses an adorable image from Simon Says Stamp, and my newly purchased Karin Markers - another thing I am working on learning to master - haha!

I used a super cute image from the Bunny Wishes stamp set, stamped it with Antique Linen distress ink, then used my Karin Markers to slowly color it in. I spent a good long while on it - and for the most part, I was fairly happy with the results. My main regret is that I feel like I rushed to add the details on the face before it had 100% dried - so they smudged a bit. I tried to fix it with a fine line detail maker, then it felt too dark. Then I added some details with a white gel pen...and I think that made it even worse! Sometimes it is so hard to know when to stop! Haha! :)

Once it dried, I die cut the panel using Wonky Rectangles dies, and added a sentiment from Lifting Hearts stamp set, then mounted it on some pattern paper from Lawn Fawn, and adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase.

How about you? Is there a technique that you struggle with? Have you continued to try and not give up?!?
