Hello! I'm here today to share my first cards with the BRAND NEW May 2021 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Dandelion Messages! This kit is so sweet - dandelions just take me back to my childhood! The included stamp set by the same name has sentiments with a beautiful font and some great simple floral images, there is some lovely pattern paper, a gorgeous embossing folder - that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!
Today I'm mostly focusing on the stamp set in the kit. I love solid images like this - they are such a great basic, and the sky is the limit as for how you want to create a backdrop for them! I did a fun ink blending technique for my cards I'm sharing today. They are also one layer cards, which are perfect for mailing!
For each card, I created a mask stencil just using white cardstock and a metal die. For this first one I used
Simon Says Stamp Basic Rectangles to create my stencil, then used a piece of Post it Tape ripped in half, and layered over the mask to ink blend with
Fossilized Amber distress ink over the rectangle, moving the masking tape gradually up the shape, and fading to lighter as I reached the top of the rectangle.
For this second one, I used
Nested Ovals dies to create my stencil, and ink blended with
Abandoned Coral distress ink. This one I started at the top nice and soft, and kept moving downward, blending a bit darker each time I moved the tape downward to create that ombre effect.
Once both of those backgrounds were done, I arranged my images and sentiments over them and stamped in place using my MISTI. Finished off with a few gold splatters with my
Starry Colors Palette for a bit of texture and shine!
