Classic Tulip Birthday Cards - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! This time of year in Skagit Valley (where I live!) it is the Tulip Festival season. While it means an influx of traffic to our little corner of the world, it is also a very beautiful time of year. So, I thought it would be fun to create some cards in honor of the holiday - so I broke out a favorite older stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to create this pair in two of the most common tulip colors. I could have kept going on forever with different combos though to be honest!

I started off with the lovely Layered Tulips stamp set - and I don't use layering stamps that often anymore, so it was kind of fun! I stamped the greenery with Sage and Pine ink, then used Zest and Honey and Apple and Cranberry for the tulip layers on each card. Instead of stamping horizontally as I've done in the past for a landscape design (which the stamp set is big enough for!), I stamped on the bottom of a panel in portrait orientation. This gave lots of open space at the top to add my sentiment from Birthday Basics stamp set. I mounted those panels on bright pops of coordinating color from Spellbinders colored cardstock, and then added some more sparkle with some coordinating Dazzling Gems in Sunbeam and Mandarin! Here is a closer look at these finished cards:
