Hello! It's been a quiet week here on the blog, as I recovered from a busy trip last week to Ohio for the Simon Says Stamp Create Event, and then came home to a lot of behind the scenes things I needed to work on (testing the May release for one, and it's a GOOD one!). But towards the end of the week, I broke out some of my other Simon Says Stamp sets and got to play a bit! This card is one of my FAVORITES from that crafting session - I LOVE the graphic and modern feel, and the bright and fun colors, inspired by a fun image I found on Pinterest.
I started off by pulling out my Rainbow Splash cardstocks, and choosing a variety of fun colors. THIS image I found on Pinterest was the beginning inspiration for this card design. I die cut some squares of different colors using one of the dies in Thin Frames (and saved the fun outlines for another card that I'll share soon!). I then used a die I hadn't had a chance to use yet - Whirl Butterflies - and die cut the smallest butterfly from a few different colors of cardstock, cutting the center from black cardstock. I layered everything together with foam adhesive and liquid glue on my white cardbase, and then added a sentiment underneath from the older Big Old Birthday stamp and die set. I wanted to add some coordinating bling, and played a while with the placement, but thought adding them this way was unique and fun! And fit well with the geometric feel! I used Dazzling Gems in Taffy, Surf, Sprout, and Mandarin to coordinating with my base cardstock colors. Here are more photos of this finished card:
