Good morning! Sometimes I order up an older set from Simon Says Stamp - I love pairing it with newer items to not only breath life back into older items, but add some versatility to newer releases as well! This beautiful butterfly die has been sitting in the "need-to-use" pile for quite some time, and I put this card together with a mix of other new sets I hadn't used yet, and even a few items that I had already prepared and not used on other projects. Love using up leftovers so they don't go to waste!
I had recently picked up the older Chelsea Butterfly set, and really wanted to put it to use on a card, so that was the start of this card - cut from white cardstock (except for the center), and then blended with Butter and Honey inks. Almost all the other elements were already sitting on my desk leftover from other cards, and just waiting to find a home - I love how they all came together! The background is Flower Frame embossing folder, and I used the debossed side with a bit of soft ink blending with Butter ink. I added a strip of Honey cardstock that had been trimmed off a panel cut with Weaving Plate wafer die, and then I had a Stitched Oval that was a perfect fit over the top! I used a sentiment from the more recently released Inspirational Quotes stamp set, and then tucked the butterfly in the upper edge for a more interesting design than if I had just centered it over the sentiment. I finished off with a few coordinating Dazzling Butter gems for some final sparkle! Here are more photos:
